Third A3 Barrows in full colour! Spent about 20 hours using the usual Faber Castel 48 pack colour pencils (though really just used about 15 of them; chiefly purple, brown, red and yellow.Some of you may have noticed she looks extremely similar to my other most recent work along the Barrows line (Astray), but still a few changes here and there, and really, I was just too tempted to try drawing a face in colour for once. I thought it was a nice experiment, but creating a *real* looking skin tone proved easier said than done, considering I've hardly tried it before. The skull-mask-headress was one of the most fun parts to draw.
Anyway, after this, I've only come to a conclusion that I need to study drawing people more; still need to be more efficient and train my intuition.
Funny that something related to death and evil turned out so colourful. >.<

And as I take a closer work I do want to ask, where is her right hand and the end of her hair? It almost seems as though her hair is long enough to show behind her back around the armpit area, and as for the right hand, I don't think the sash covering it is large enough to block her entire hand. But that's just my opinion. Great job anyway, You inspire me to be more creative with my outfits and such on people. I just haven't accomplished anything with it.

Very true, and I really do appreciate your observation! I completely understand where you're coming from with the questions, and I see the errors too. I suppose there really isn't much I can say as to why you would be wrong*. But sometimes, art is about doing what you feel like doing. If you want something completely realistic, why not take a photo? But when it comes to drawing from imagination, sometimes it's hard to visualise things exactly like how they would look if they were to exist. But other times, I just can't be bothered, or overlook certain aspects (in this case, the right hand and the hair). Though, like they say: learn from one's mistakes. So thank you very much for your insight!

Well, either way, it's amazing work and I love the way you do pencil. I was only asking in case it was done purposely or if you weren't sure how to do either the hair or the hand or something along those lines. You're work is usually so amazing I can't find anything wrong or out of proportion in it. Not to say this is any less amazing but I finally saw something that in my own work I would consider a mistake and I thought 'HE'S HUMAN AFTER ALL!'
Great job regardless and I really look forward to seeing more of your work!
