Seriously, what's so fucking special about the fucking book series/shitty film? Honestly, I fucking swear that it's becoming the new Twilight but with a plot that makes you think it would be like fucking Smash TV (an awesome arcade game) but instead, it's a shitty survival story.Related content

I do get that the books/movies present important archetypes and symbols but...for me it's still a glorification of the main character. She may or may not be a Mary Sue (because I know Bella Swan is 1000x worse) but I don't like her that much...
I have read the first pages of the first book but I got quickly bored. Not my cup of tea, I guess.

Oh yeah please...I didn't found the movies appealing in the slightest...I was sooooo fuckig bored. I literally fall asleep...and usually i only fall asleep in front of the TV when i'm really sick.
I found the movies boring, the plot dragged on for too long and this whole plot about rebelling against a corrupt government got totally overused in the last few years for my liking.

I read the first book. I honestly like the first book more and there's so much bs I want to say about the other books. And like always, there's some cute guy in the film teen girls go gaga for.....it is becoming the new Twilight. I generally like the books more. Problem is when it becomes a movie, the fan girls act like it's the best love story of all....

I seriously don't get why its so good. I've read/watched them, but I didn't enjoy them in the slightest. The Underland. Chronicles, of the same author, are much better yet I Barely hear Anyone talk about that.

Everywhere I go, there are people saying "Hey, that remembered me of Hunger Games!" or, into some button accounts, "Hey, are there any Hunger Games button?" Okay, I know, I've neither watched it nor readed it but, seriously, like in the day that the girls of my class were saying "that movie is A-W-E-S-O-M-E!" but I watch it... And get impressed. I'm surrounded by idiots.

It literally [was] the new Twilight, since it follows these guidelines:
-Based off of a series of four books
-Author did not spend a [whole lot] of time between books.
-A romance novel, devoid of any character depth
-Targeted for teenage girls (aged 12-16)
-Adapted into poorly-made films
-Mass-marketed beyond comparison
Most importantly:
-Totally bigoted, inept fans, who go apeshit when you insult/never heard of their precious author, favorite book, movie, etc.

I liked it at first.
But as I read the series, I found that the writing got really stale and I found the story went downhill after the first book.
I never felt threatened by President Snow as a villain to be honest. The author could have developed him a lot better- like showing why he believes the hunger games are needed. If say as a child he watched his parents die in war, had been terrorized by the districts and felt fear of the same thing repeating again then he would have been a much better written character.
I also feel that the other tributes just came and went instead of having more development to them. Why did the author wait until the last minute to give us a reason to feel sympathy for Cato?
There were so many little things in the story that if fixed, could have been a fantastic story to offer. Like even having Katniss spend the second story feeling remorse for killing everyone else- yet any form of PTSD she expressed was glanced over.
I hated how Gale was pushed to the side in Peeta's favor. Katniss seemed to have clicked better with Gale, yet the author was pushing for us to root for Peeta. I would've killed Peeta off, which by doing that would've left doors open for character development in Katniss' case.
