Description Seriously, what's so fucking special about the fucking book series/shitty film? Honestly, I fucking swear that it's becoming the new Twilight but with a plot that makes you think it would be like fucking Smash TV (an awesome arcade game) but instead, it's a shitty survival story.

The Catching Fire Movie sucked balls. Why? I will tell you.

I know pacing and taking your time but this movie takes way too goddamn long to get to the games.
Haymitch is an unlikable douche.
The 75th games were a massive letdown.
President Snow is a One note villain only made to sneer, threaten and glare at Katniss everytime he is on screen.
The violence is mostly blurred and personally doesn't get that dark feel.
Missed opportunities to develop the Love Triangle.
The other tributes in it are not developed enough and had potential to be really unique and likeable.
I know the ending is like the book's but it just stopped dead in it's tracks and just killed it.The execution of said ending was awful.

Overall,Catching fire was a terrible movie and certainly overrated. It did not deserve all the hype it got.

I agree. The Hunger Games is a 100% copy of Battle Royale with some unnecessary bullshit added to make people feel like the story has some actual deeper meaning than people killing each other. It's a shitty book about kids killing kids without a meaning philosophical point written by a stupid fucking woman. It's basically Lord of the Flies for morons. The whole series is some long-winded depressing shit with a terrible ending. I can't wait for all the girls to walk away from the theater with a worse taste in their mouth than Mass Effect fans.

I got the books for Christmas and I loved them, nothing I thought it was going to be. An actually good love triangle, a good female role, and rather good males. But the first book is definitely better.

Hunger Games is horrible. I'm just going to say it right there. Sure, it's better than Twilight, but hell, my lamp is better than that shit. I didn't think the love triangle was that good. She had no reason to actually "love" Peeta, when he was actually just saying that mostly for himself to survive. His bread probably didn't save them, and one loaf of bread (which in real life would have given her whole family diseases) wouldn't have made a difference. In my opinion (to not drag this on for five years) in real life, Katniss would have died. Peeta would've died. Everyone would've died. When Dist. 12 ran away because of the bombs, they would have all died because I would sure as hell have secured the area and shot everyone who tried to run away.Β

InvaderPumpkinQueen In reply to dragonkit545 [2014-01-05 22:41:35 +0000 UTC]

No, Peeta actually did love her. He wasn't the one putting on a show to get through the games. He was actually mad that Katniss was. Because he thought she as serious.
And the bread could have helped, I mean if you were starving, that bread would have given you some energy. Then she could hunt and get more food.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dragonkit545 In reply to InvaderPumpkinQueen [2014-01-06 16:03:05 +0000 UTC]

Mostly, he was. In a game where kids have to kill each other to survive, I don't think that he did it mainly to say his feelings, but for everyone to give sympathy to give mostly. Sure, he loved her, but he barely knew her which made him more of a creep if you think about it.Β

The burnt bread which she had to share with her entire family wouldn't have been even close enough to cover for giving her energy. I would've gone to Gale or the people I actually knew.Β

The actress who plays Katniss is exactly like Kristen Stewart. Does NO ONE REALIZE THIS?! They both have ZERO facial expressions and what they do is either vastly illogical or selfish and close-minded to the point of it being beyond rude, especially towards love interests.Β

Derp, what the hell Katniss. Just because you have to be the big girl in a dystopian future doesn't mean you can't develop basic interaction skills with the opposite sex!

Alright, with the full caps and too many !s I have just confirmed you are a fangirl/boy. And could you tell me one of those plot twists? The only reason that it has "over one million fans" (which is probably false, but I am not going to look it up right now) is because nobody knows the real story. It was based off other books. Half the people in the theater were watching the movie because of Jennifer Lawrence or another actor. There wasn't much death or blood and gore either, at least according to other books. Plus, Finnick died :/. Β There was no humor at all, and even in worse books, there's some humor. More importantly above everything, the fucking fan base sucks!

Not everyone is starving. Katniss and Gale's families (which is clichΓ©) are the only people starving in District 12 that they mention. Seriously, would it kill Collins to put in one line of humor?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kegger98 In reply to dragonkit545 [2013-12-10 06:46:32 +0000 UTC]

I like the character of katniss, she's not a perfect Mary Sue who drools over men all the time. I like the darkness and hopelessness it creates, making the moments of triumphs feel good. And, I love how it parodys modern television and sports. Also, I just think it's really intense.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dragonkit545 In reply to Kegger98 [2013-12-10 13:09:09 +0000 UTC]

She drools over men allll the time. The books are dictated by "team gale!" or "team peeta!" If this was real life, Katniss would have lost so bad. Thresh would have killed her, and if he didn't Cato would have. Or the dogs. I don't think it's really about making a parody, I think it's about making sure they don't rebel. And also in real life, a nuke would give all of District 13 cancer or kill them. It's not that intense, read another book that's actually good. Battle Royale, which THG is based off of. Or Eragon, which is a friggin' awesome book.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kegger98 In reply to dragonkit545 [2013-12-10 16:48:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but can you honestly say it's as bad as team Jacob team Edward? Besides, that's always secondary to what's going on. And yes, the games are there to prevent another rebelling. But, Suzanne Collins based it off things like gladiators and reality tv. And yes, I'll go look up battle royal, which did not inspire the hunger games.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dragonkit545 In reply to Kegger98 [2013-12-10 23:28:04 +0000 UTC]

It's become team jacob/edward, even worse, and at least when Mockingjay comes out it's going to be way worse than Twilight.Β

Let's do some thinking– maybe a bit hard for you, though:Β

Battle Royale is the SAME exact thing as THG. Governement forces kids to kill each other. Kid who had a sad life. Two people win. Veteran guy who's already been in the games / program. You name it, it's in the HG and BR.Β
