Well, I know some people on here aren't familar with animals so I thought I'd make a general "how to" sheet. Note: My anatomy isn't good even with refs. So I'm not the best to look at for that. Also, action lines (motion lines) help some people.Images refed for the two sketches:

note, I just googled these and didn't use permission. I wouldn't recomment that. There are a TON of stock photo galleries out there. I HIGHLY recommend if your not used to drawing lions or big cats that you get a ref pic of a big cat. (If you can't find a lion, try a panther. Or really any other big cat. To be truthful, house cats have similar positions but not anatomy. But if you jsut need help with the pose, they're fine to ref.)

Wow, this tutorial is quite useful. I've tried lions before, but they didn't turn out right. Just now I did the poses of the two stock lions using your method and they turned out much better!

*chuckles, patting you on your head.* Well I'll see what I can do. I'm really not the best at these. But if I get a lil time I'll try and let you know.
But ya' know, the best advice I can give is to just watch the animals you want to learn about. watch documentaries, go to zoos, look at pictures. That's where the best help comes from. When you're looking just try to see the basic shapes in things. ^.^
