Fantastic! Β
It's nice to see an artist who promotes taking the time to learn the basics. Β Drawing is not hard, but getting good at it takes time. Β Just as it does with any skill. Β

I actually am botherered a little bit by when people do not use any sort of guidelines.
The few skilled artists I have seen that don't use guidelines go through an entire erase, adjust, and redraw process where an image that should have only taken 1-3 hours takes 6-8.
Really, it only hinders artistic skill severely, I don't see why people don't use them.
My friend doesn't use them and her art style has barely changed in the past 6 years! Everyone I know that uses them sees progression all the time.

I agree, I see many saying "Guidelines are for n00bs!1!!" and it takes them 1 year to draw a fucking puppet standing

Exactly.Β
And the ones that do actually do very well without guidelines take like 10 years to get there when they could've done the same progression in about 4 years.
I even watched one of those types of artists in a speedpaintΒ recently. She kept drawing the face wrong, then replacing and stretching out eyes and stuff on the face over and over again. Then she finally drew guidelines and fixed it on the first try with them.
Like.
You could've spent 10 less minutes on that face if you just used the guidelines at the beginning.

I already utilize this method when I draw characters. I remember when I used to just start drawing in the middle of the page without blocking everything in, and having to go back and fix everything ate a lot of time.Β
