I didn't even realize the simpsons reference until others mentioned it.
And I don't think Derpy is the 'no effort' girl. I think the readers raving she cheated IMHO means OTHERS will think she cheated in story because 'she's just a retard, no way she could get a good score.' Since her wall eyes and speech impediment and klutz nature make everyone THINK she's mentally challenged.
And RD . . . dang. Welcome to reality RD. Hopefully this would be a wake up call.
