Though it shouldn't come as a surprise given the capabilities of the human mind and emotion, it always amazes me how much heart-felt feeling can be so fully expressed with non-human characters. Great work both in art and dialogue!

There's a lot of debate on that subject. This comic assumes Applebloom was very young when her parents died. Like, less than a year old. SoApplebloom is AJ's much younger sister.

It's always sad when a young child never gets to know their parents!
I guess I should feel fortunate that my parents raised me themselves, and are still alive today to care for me, whenever I need them.
Everybody deal with death in their own way. I don't know if Applejack's emotional numbness the right way to go about it, though; but it's "a" way to deal with the death of loved ones.
I lok forward to seeing the next part of this, whenever that may come.

This is what a good artist does - brings out the emotions in the viewer, allows them to slip into the shoes - in this case horseshoes! - of the characters, and in a way that only makes the art itself look better when you take it in as a whole. Very nice work!

I think the Pony who had to have more strength was Big Mac because he have two little sister to care.
This story is very sad. The poor AJ is very young and traumatized by this tragic event. All Apple family is sad, but AJ is the saddest.
