Adult males look stunning in their black and red suit, but there's some brilliant patterning on this young one! Love how you captured his underside here, shows off all those nice streaks and marks very well

I am not sure it is Red-winged blackbird because of the beak too short. I don't know what it is though.

HI, I'm tending to agree with you... if you look at this thumb.. it's a female red wing. and the beak is longer. I was almost thinking it's a Pine siskin. The beak is more like a finches.. short and stocky.

This one is a female red wing for sure.
I thought of a siskin too but the beak looks more like a finches indeed! I also thought of a female purple finch but the tail is not alike...
