Description
I saw the #buildabetterfaketheropod hashtag go around some plaeo art the other day, so, I spent an hour making a better fake theropod.I´m not actually disapointed in the hybrids we got in the films like everyone else seems to be; Indo was the first, so they played it safe, Ripper wasn´t supposed to look cool, it [redacted for spoiler reasons] so it makes sense the design was more "big raptor with irregular teeth" than "throw all the cool stuff into a kettle and see what comes out".
I chose the middle between different extremes, ie it can be seen that it´s a theropod dinosaur of some large and slender description, something that could have existed.
Here is my own hybrid. No "scientific" name yet, but codename is "clicker" because of the echolocation noise it makes. From a parallel timeline where Jurassic World remained open, but they needed a different dino for their new attraction:
"At 17 metres long, the [something cool, pls comment] is the largest land carnivore in Jurassic world. Despite their slender build, the massive weight of the creatures necessitates the use of all four limbs for walking longer distances, only being able to stand on it´s hind limbs for short sprints or to reach higher above the ground. While a rather large predator, it has been trained to ignore humans* and prefers to stalk living pray from the concealment of the jungle inside the paddock, when not laying on the rocks to soak in sunlight. With a roar that can reach nearly 152 Db, it´s also one of the louder animals in the park."
* the same training and conditioning as Velocitaptor batch 3.7 (Blue, Charlie, Delta, Echo).
Geneticist Dr. Barkland mission profile:
Larger than T. rex. More and larger teeth. Louder and weirder roar.
Genetic makeup:
Main:
Spinosaurus aegypticus: Base genome for large size.
Felis catus: Longer tail for agile balance. Docile capability. Mammal pray preference.
Deinonychus: Slender body. Sleeker fins. Communicative capability (small social group).
Therizinosaurus: stronger forearms, longer forearms. More developed hands with larger claws.
Unnamed Monitor Lizard: Septic bite, poikilotherm biology, mammal pray preference.
Baryonyx: angled snout for catching struggling pray. More teeth.
Caracharodon caracias: modified teeth shape. Loose jaws.
Unnamed Allosaurid: Reinforced skull structure. Stronger neck muscles to support heavy head.
Unnamed Placoderm: Snap-Lock biting mechanism. Vacuum-suction biting mechanism.
Orca orca: Increased lung capacity for silent stalking. Echolocation. Stronger resonation chamber.
Other:
Unnamed snake: snake-like incisors. Hinged jaws.
Classified genetic markers form the Indie.
Classified genetic markers from the Carno.
And why does the Deino change fin structure? because JW:E says the deino looks like this:vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/ju…
(in actuallity, the deino looked like JP raptors if you add feathers.)
