Description

Previous:    Next:    First:

A few of you did guess Prometheus would be the myth of the day.  Well done!  Sisyphus and the boulder would have been a good choice as well, because Springtrap is feeling like he's trapped in a hell of futility.  I can also see Atlas, although I don't know if Springtrap would tell the Puppet about a myth that relates to someone other than himself (BOB).

Has anyone been to Gamestop and seen all their blacklight FNAF merchandise?  Blacklight plushies, action figures, pops, pen toppers, mini-vinyls, various blind-bagged stuff, giant plushes, etc.  What is up with that?  Have they truly run so low on ideas?  Here's a notion for ya, Funko: Nightmare and Plushtrap plushies and merchandise.

I did, however, get a voice-activated jumpscare Freddy.  It's about 15 inches of adorable RAWR.

Hope you mention Iapetus, because in the Percy Jackson series he loses his memory and goes by Bob

Prometheus was punished for giving the gift of knowledge to man. He was cast into the bowels of the Earth, and pecked by birds.

Greek mythology in a shellnut-
Zeus: I feel horny
Everyone: Zeus, no!
Zeus: Zeus, yes! I do what I want!

Wouldn't the Prometheus myth relate more to Ian than Bob? Like, how he keeps on keeping on with the whole "let's not be a dick to Bob even though I toally have the right to do so, because everyone deserves respect and the chance for redemption" even though he was continually being hurt by Bob before. I also think Atlas is more relateable to Ian, with how he is always trying to be strong for everyone else and carry all the burdens.

Yeah, I remember that story. In God of War 2, you have to free Prometheus from the eternal painful life of being stabbed to death.

Prometheus is an interesting choice. Considering it's about a guy trying to help people, but then gets punished for it makes me wonder where Springtrap is going with this...

Prometheus got chained to a mountain, every day, his liver was eaten by Zeus’s eagle, every night his liver grew back.

ChiwwyDawg In reply to EnderDragon7 [2018-11-14 23:44:11 +0000 UTC]

Yes, he got chained to a mountain and had his liver eaten because he stole fire from Olympus and the gods to help mankind.

Darkmoncns In reply to ChiwwyDawg [2018-11-18 14:20:12 +0000 UTC]

It's a bit more complicated then that. Prometheus had first asked for permission from Zeus to do that. Zeus said no because he thought man would destory itself. Because Zeus said no when Prometheus did it anyway it made it an act of treason. That's why he was punished like that for treason not for stealing some fire from the sun.

Hmm, never heard that version of the myth.

There are so many different tellings of any one myth in Greek Mythology...who's to say which one is the correct one?

(Not that I'm saying mine is, no no no! I love hearing all the different tellings of the same myth, I've just only heard one version of Prometheus' myth up until now.)

Really? Prometheus? So that's how you made it work here. Didn't think that's the angle. I take a lot of things literally, sometimes too literally...
