START OF THE IHS STORYLINE : Part 1 - Chap. 1

After watching Matt's performance, Eryn had realized two things. The first one was the fact that her friend and his mare have a so much better level than her, and the second one was the fact of she was more stressed than she'd expected. So, once she realized the fact of she will maybe fail all her performance, because of her lack of experience - but maybe more because of her own stress and bad vision of herself-, she became distant with the other team members of the Ivory Hill Stables, despite of the fact that the dinner after the dressage trial was full of laughs, smiles and the fact of there was a bit of alcool. Of course, she ddn't drink a lot during the dinner. And even if she would love to, her friend and boss, Caelyne, keep her weather eyes open. So, that's soon in the evening when Eryn leave the staff's quarters and goes to her mare's stable. Then, she spend some minutes to look at the mare. When Violet noticed the presence of her owner, she snort and omes to her beloved rider. Eryn, at this moment, can't handle a large smile. She put her hand on the mare's head and begin to scratch the foread of the chesnut girl.

"You're not stressed at all, you, hm ?"

The girl asked to her mare. Obviously, the mare could not answer, but to the words of Eryn, Violet straighten up her ears and slowly exhale. The results was that she looks like she wanted to reassure her rider. Even her, the nevous mare, is calm in this kind of situation.

"Well, I guess I've to learn that from you. I can't be less stressed. I don't find the way." Eryn says, and sight.

"And what's about a walk only under girls and horses ? May that help you ?" announced a voice behind her.

Eryn suddenly turned around and met Caelyne and Vitany head on.

"Why not ?" answered Eryn. "I'v never try it."

So, whithout any supplementary words, any girls took a halter in the saddlery of the truck and then, take their horses, so Violet, for Eryn, Heimdall for Vitany and Vanquisher for Caelyne. They decided to walk near the beach, to maybe enjoy the glowing water with the horses. The both stallions was quiet, but Violet become nearly excited by the presence of the both boys.

"So," begin Caelyne, during the time that the girls and the horses join the beach. "You're stressed that much ?"

Eryn blushes.

"Yes. I know, that's ridiculous, but..."
"That's NOT ridiculous." Vitany cut Eryn short. "You know, everybody in the stables are stressed before a competition."
"Really ?" asked Eryn. "Because Mat doesn't look like stressed."
"That's because he's older than us... And maybe because he's an alien. So perfectionist than he can't fail at all."

The third girl burst out laughing. Yes, Matthew has to be an Alien. There were no other explaination. They arrived to the beach, and noticed that, despite the late hour, they were not the only ones who wanted to discover the glowy water. Some others riders and their horses were on the beach or in water, let their horses have some fun with it. The three girls looked at each others and lead their horses to the water. First, the three equines reveal themselves like not so courageous like they wanted to look like. They show themselves like nervous and wary. Too much strange things for them. But the girls, to help them to go in the water,removed their shoes and go in the water, finally followed by their horses. Soon after, the horses looks like to enjoy the situation, and finally have fun. At least, the girls have a lot of fun too, laughing a lot when the horse of one water the both others, striking the water with their legs. Or when Caelyne miss to fall in water after that Vanquisher decided to let see if the deep water wasn't more interesting than the bank. The trip under girls continued for an hour before the time to go back in the stables -and in the bed for the humans-. Soked, but with big smiles on their lips, the girls sprinkle the horses and let them to their boxes, before to go back in their trailer couches. This night, Eryn finally fall in sleep, less stressed and with wonderful memories in her mind.

But the next morning, when she stand up, she was overcome by fear and had a bad nausea. Her turn to take part in the show was later in the afternoon, and she doesn't feel good about it. During all the morning, she could only be lay down in her bed, refusing to eat or everything else. In midday, Caelyne came to look for her, and forced her to take a big lunch.

"You'll feel less stressed if you'll have something in your belly." said Caelyne.

And she finally wasn't so wrong, but Eryn doesn't feel as good as she wanted too. That's maybe because everybody in the stables staff noticed it than, in the middle of the day and few hours before her calling, Matthew come to find her.

"Eryn, be prepared ! I'll coach you for the rest of the day !" he declared.
"What ? But what are we going to do ? I've to prepared myself and Violet." she answered, surprised.
"I know. That will be one part of the coaching. SO ! No more words. Follow me, that's an order from our boss."

To this words, he take her by the arm and forced her to walk with him, that doesn't let a chance to Eryn to refuse. Finally, the coaching of Matthew was pretty effective. The first thing he did to Eryn was to ask her to do a jogging of thirty minutes on the beach and in the forest around.

"The fact of doing some other sport than horse riding before a trial is necessary to kick out all the thightnesses in your body."

Then, he let her do some other physicals exercises, then forced her to eat and drink a lot of fruit juices to have energy. They lead Violet to walk in the beach and in the water a little before the begining of the jumping part, to be sure that the mare will be in good mental condition for the trial. He even gave her some exercises on foot to do, to her mare and her. After all of that, he lead her to the recognition of the jumping circuit. Here, he doesn't give her advices about the jumping in itself, declaring the fact of that was her speciality, not his. But he give her some advices for all the steps between every jump. How to be the most effective to get the cadence of the gallop back, how to lead her mare with less hands and more seat, how to be the more accurate she can in her route... A lot of useful tips that she know for the most, but the fact of somebody else give her this kind of advices had for effect to reassure her. Once the recognition was done, they'll go preparing the mare. Just after Eryn finished to saddle her mare and just before she begin to braided her, Matthew take Eryn appart from her mare. He lead her to the trailer and here, asked her to try meditation.

"But... I've not the time for ! I have to braided Violet !" she answered, letting the stress come back in her mind.
"Don't worry, I've ask Caelyne to do this for you. Your mare will be ready when we have finished." he calmly answered.

During fifteen minutes, he teach her to dome some little exercises of meditation, and every of them don't take more than few minutes.

"Meditation is good to let your mind free of all the others difficulties. You must do that after your recognition to focus calmly on your jumping process. Even if you do just five or ten minutes of meditation, that'll help you to fight your stress."

After they finished, Eryn took her mare and lead her to the warm-up arena. During all her warm-up, Matthew continues to coach her, under the kindly look of Caelyne and Vitany. For the first time, Eryn only jumped two or three jumps during the warm-up, and all are less than the height that she'll jump in few minutes. But the technical advices of Matthew was so much necessary for her that she don't feel the need to jump higher. After thirty minutes of warming-up, her name was called. So, Eryn and Violet head for the cave for the show jumping arena, and just before enter in the cave, she turn back to Caelyne and Matthew.

"Thank you, both of you. I don't know how I would have been if you had not been there."

Then, she spur her mare who begin to walk calmly. Paradoxically, she never feel her mare so quiet than in this day. The girls enter in the cave. Eryn noticed that the cave was darker than in the recognition, but the jumps was glowy and shiny. When she introduced herself to the judges, a big smile was in her lips. The bell suddenly ring, and Eryn started the gallop. Just before come up to the first jump, she whispered to her mare :

"Let's go, Vio. Let's going to try to touch these fake stars, d'you want to ?"

At the moment, Violet straighten up her head, prick up her ears and strech her gait. Eryn took that for a "Of course we'll do that !".

Then, their first attempting to fly began.
