Well, this is a new training picture for a demoiselle in need to train for a big event in coming... But I will not speak more about it now.

Story :

“Hey Zel ! Are you ready to show to our boss our improvements ?” shouted Nao when he enter the stables, capturing all the horses in the stables attention.

The involved mare showed her head through her stall’s door, her ears straight ahead, with a little neigh to welcome her rider. If there is something that none of the staff of the stables couldn’t deny, that was certainly the affection that these two had for each other. The young man came right to her and began to pet her neck. She started to lick his cheek in return.

“Hi, girl, I am happy to see you too !” Laughed the boy. “Well, I hope you didn’t try to escape your stall this time !” Nao added with a kind of false reproach in his voice.

“She couldn’t.” says a friendly voice in Nao’s back. That was Rodney, the Groom Chief in person, who was bringing to the rider the mare’s stuff. Nao smiles at him. “I have brought her in just a few minutes before you came. Like that, she has not the time to flee.” Rodney continued, proud to have found a way to have Damzelle ready in the right time for once. It must be said that her annoying tendency to escape her stall like 10 minutes after being put in every time she had to be prepared was a waste of time for all the staff in the stables.

“Well, thank you !” said Nao.
“You’re welcome, buddy. You look very excited today, that’s unusual. Normally, you’re pretty stressed when you have a lesson with Caelyne. So, what’s happened ?” asked Rodney, who was definitively too observant. But isn’t that his job to have his eyes everywhere ? Nao smiled at the ginger guy.
“Ok, ok. Caelyne announced something to me earlier this day, but this is a secret, OK ? She will advise the rest of the team as soon as she knows more about it.”
“Hmmm, you get my full attention and my absolute discretion. I swear.” answered Rodney with a conspiratorial look.
“‘kay. A big show is coming soon in France and she has told me that I will participate in it. So, for now and for the coming months, she will train us, Zel and me, hard to be on our top level to participate !” said finally Nao with a lot of excitement in his voice.
“Wow, that’s great, Nao ! Congrats ! But if what you say is true, I can only advise you to hurry. The time is running and it will be soon the hour of the lesson !” reply Rodney with a wink.
“Oh my, you’re right ! Well, see ya’, so !” conclude the blue-eyed boy, returning to his rider’s duties.

Yeah, Nao was really impatient, for the lesson and for the incoming show. He will be allowed soon to finally show his jumper talent and Damzelle’s progress in a real show. And that was not nothing for him. That was the result of a full year of training, improvements and sacrifices. He knew that Caelyne put a lot of hopes in his duo with the Selle-Français mare, and he was really determined to prove to her that she wasn’t wrong at all.

He finished to saddle Damzelle and then led the tobiano mare to the indoor arena. This end of winter was pretty cold, but the boy decided to only wear a t-shirt, because he knew that Caemyne will make hime work hard today. As he knew, they would work the water jumps today. The open-water and the liverpools. A kind of jumps that neither Damzelle nor him have trained since then.

He entered the arena and Caelyne was already there, with a hosepipe in her hands. She was filling the pools of the only jump in the arena. When she ears the boy and the mare, the girl turned herself to welcome them.

“Hey Nao. Woaw, you have a big smile on your face today, that’s such a pleasure to see ! You looked so much… Stressed when we meet for a lesson usually... Did Aoi finally decided to let you alone ?”
“I know !” answered the boy with a blush. “But I am really excited today. Your announcement earlier has motivated me a way more than you can expect... Nothing to do with Aoi. He still upset me, he didn't care at all about what I want and still come to see me... He's exhausting. BUT. Anyway, I'm happy to ride today.”
“That’s great to hear, you know. That’s important for me that you are motivated by this show. But I have to tell you that you will have serious rivals in it.” Said the boss of the stables, in a clear try to test her student’s reactions.
“Oh, really ?” he answered with a challenging look. “Like, who ?” he asked.
“Weeeell, me, at first. I will ride Absolut for this show. And Eryn, of course, who will ride Dream Catcher.”
Nao seems to think a bit before his answer.
“Hm. It’s obvious that you are a serious rival for me, even more as I know that you will ride Absolut which is an excellent jumper for sure. But that doesn’t discourage me at all. That will make me go over my capacities to beat you. And about Eryn, she is clearly an important rival as a rider, but Dream isn’t as experienced as Damzelle. So she doesn't worry me a lot.”
At this answer, the woman smiled at her employee.
“Great. I like this mentality.”
She was really proud about Nao’s evolution, and seeing his combative mind improvement was really cool. It had to be said that he started from far. The shy and insecure young man who was hired here was really far away now. She made a nod to confirm her impressions and invited him to climb up on Damzelle. Nao obeyed and began to walk the mare.

But before Caelyne started the lesson, she added something for Nao about their previous conversation. “But do not underestimate Eryn. Even if Dream isn't experienced as Damzelle, her experience is important and she can surprise all of us a lot. So, be careful.”
“I’ll be, I'll be.” said Nao to Caelyne with a confident voice.
“Okay. Well, today’s lesson, as I said to you earlier, is about water jumps. Are you ready to begin ?”
“I am more than ready.” answered the boy.

Caelyne smiled. Yup, he was definitely ready.
