Well, I'm definitively satisfied with this kind of shading !

Hm, Nao isn't really glad to see how energic Luna is in the morning... He doesn't like a lot this kind of surprise...

Story :
*Nao Yawns*
“Nao, stop that !” said Eryn to her friends, since he yawns with a wide open mouth.
“Bruh, sorry, sorry, Ryn, but vetchecks in the day following a long trip are sooooo rude !” the young man answered to his friend.
“I know, right ? When I think that Caelyne is quietly taking a nap right now, when we are freezing our butts off here !” she added with a desperate face.

The middle of the afternoon was pretty cold. Bad luck for them, the two jumping riders of the Ivory Hill Estate were waiting for their turn, which were in the middle of the vetcheck because of their numbers. By luck, the numbers of the two best friends were following each other, so they waited together. But lord, if anyone else could have seen Nao’s face at this moment, they could all say how he would have preferred to take a nap, as his boss does at this moment. The team arrived late the previous afternoon, and because of this, they hadn’t found the time to release their horses a little bit before leading them to their boxes for the night. They slept until it was late morning and so could only release them for half an hour before the vet check. The consequence was that both horses had waaaay too much energy… And in a few seconds, Nao will discover it with a hard move by his mare.

Yeah, in the time that Nao and Eryn were discussing about these freakin’ too early vetchecks, Luna was looking all over her, highly impressed and disturbed by all the horses around her, despite the presence of Valor, who was pretty quiet… And despite the fact that her rider was slowly petting her neck and her shoulder, she started to neigh to the distant horses… And the inevitable happened : another horse answered her. This sound seemed to triggered something in Luna’s head… Which decided to make an excellent racehorse galop start, even if she was a pure Zlesdin.

In the fraction of a second, all become a pure mess : Luna was running straight to any other horse who could cross her path to greet them, Nao made one with the ground, Valor was neighing all he could because his mare was running away from him and Eryn was just looking all around her, lost by the priorities of the actions she had to face : should she had to help Nao first or to run and catch Luna first ?

Before she could even started to move, Nao lift him up back in his foot while he was screaming some japanese words to Luna - and even if she was not speaking japanese, Eryn could swear that the words were not some compliments - and Luna was arrested by someone in the end of the alley. Eryn tried to calm her horse and then headed near to her friend, who was still screaming. She grabbed his arm and led him through the alley, under the compassionate look of the other riders and grooms. The boy was still mumbling at the time they got close to the mare, who was held by someone they couldn’t see.

“Nao, shut up and come !” said Eryn to her friend, “We have to take back Luna and made some good apologies before Caelyne…”

The person who was helding Luna makes a move and shows herself. And at this exact moment, Eryn and Nao knew that they fucked up.

“Before Caelyne what ?”

Their boss asked with a too quiet voice. The duo swallowed, because despite of the calm tone of their boss, her eyes were full of a controlled anger. She turned herself back to the rider and his horse with which she was speaking just before they arrived.

“Anyway” she continued without giving them the time to say anything. “I’m sorry again for what happened. I’m glad that Luna decided to come to you, thank you about catching her during her great escape. Luckily for them, your horse is pretty sociable and cool with unknown horses.”

The rider nodded his head and accepted the apologies of Caelyne, then leaded his horse away to the facilities. Caelyne looked at him going away with a polite smite, then she went to meet Andy who was reaching them with a kind of a panicked look, still ignoring her employees.

“Hey, all is OK, here ? I seen a horse running away, is he OK ?” the vet asked to Caelyne who was smiling politely.
“She is, thank you for your concern, Andy. I heard that this will be soon her turn, she’ll be ready for the vetcheck, don’t worry.”
“Oh, Caelyne, that’s you ! Well, glad to hear that all is fine !”
“Yup ! I’m so sorry for this mess, these clowns are sometimes hard to handle… And I speak about my team, not my horses.”
“... I know what you mean !” the vet says with a little laugh. He turned himself to the two jumping riders.
“Oh, but that’s Nao ! You was here to groom Uxor the last time ! How are you ? And he ? And Matthew ?”
“Well, I’m fine, thank you, despite the fall. Uxor and Matthew goes well, too ! They’re training hard to enter some great shows this year !”
“Nice to hear. And you are…?” he asked while turning himself to Eryn.
“Oh, heu… Hi, I’m Eryn Lowe, one of the jumping rider of the IHS.”
“Nice to meet you too, Eryn. Like your hair. Well, the duty is calling me, have a great show guys ! Caelyne, see you later !”
“See you, Andy.”

Then, Caelyne finally turned herself to her staff members.

“Well, it seems that I will have to make the vetcheck for you, Nao. Head back to the hotel room and change yourself, you’re full of dirt.”

Nao and Eryn exchanged a surprised look. They were waiting for a good lesson by their boss, but she was pretty cool finally… Or…

“I have to say that I’m pretty disappointed and ashamed of both of you. You put other riders and horses in danger by your inattention ! I know that a horse escaping is not necessarily the rider's fault, but I see you far away chatting and being inattentive a moment before Luna’s escape. You should be ashamed of that ! I have to say that I am waiting for a more professional attitude from both of you during shows like this one. We represent our stables in front of other high quality competitive stables. You are pleased to act like you should : as professional riders. Understood ?”

The both riders nodded their heads together, blushing of shame. They messed up a lot.

“Great. Do not make any other mistake. To be honest, when I see what happened, I hesitate to make yourselves forfeited to the show, but I changed my mind and prefer to make a good lesson for you about this event."
Eryn launched a surprised look at Caelyne. She hesitated to forfeit her too ?
“Yes, you too Eryn,” Caelyne answered to the look, “I know how much you can be both inattentive when you are together, and especially both of you. If you were not there, Nao would have been more focused on his mare. So, one more mistake, and your horses and you will stay in the stables. Am I clear ?”

They nodded their heads in approbation. Then she led the mare to the vets, as Luna’s number was called. Eryn started to follow her, as her passage was the following one. Nao started to head back to the hotel, the tears full of shame in the edges of his eyes. Caelyne was right, he made a big mistake. The lesson was rude, but he knew he will be more attentive in the future… His career was too important. He inhales a lot, and regains a bit of energy for the rest of the day. After all, the event just started and he was still there.
