Updates Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It's not exactly a new or original observation, but it concerns a problem that unfortunately continues to widely persist. There have been far too many occasions on which in the course of having an actually rational discussion with someone on the interwebs, some third party commenter felt the need to interject with some response like "Wow, I can't believe you guys actually had a mature and well-tempered discussion". Here's a tip: if you want someone to take what you're saying seriously, try not to phrase it in a way that makes them want to punch you in the face. I imagine that's not how you probably talk in real life to strangers.
Please comment and enjoy.

I forget where i heard it but i heard what us online artists experience is called "the duality of man" which is (plz correct me if wrong) where there is a part of a person who is the worst thing since the teen titians go.

Honesty is the best policy, I say; just don't be that guy in the first panel.

This was just an excuse to use the same panel twice, wasn't it.

Is it weird that I read the second panel while yelling?

I think it's quite funny how many people in the comments seem to consider the left panel the 'honest' one, and the right one the 'fake'. I actually think the truth is generally somewhere in between.
Yes, the internet makes it easier for people to give their unsalted opinion because they're (sort of) anonymous, but many seem to have a tendency to go way over the top. I many ways, getting under peoples skin just because you can, since they don't know who you are, is also fake. And yes, face-to-face, many people hesitate to speak the truth. However, I don't see how common (face-to-face) decency is 'dishonest' or 'fake'. You can be respectful ánd critical at the same time

Say it to the screen? OR to the face?
THAT is the question

That is totally accurate to what I would say to Masashi Kishimoto....
Who am I kidding myself, I would criticize the living crap out of him whether it was in the comments or in real life. 700 chapters of BS can do that to you. So I prefer the honest one in the left.

The second panel seems just like my English 102 class today when we were sharing how how we would incoperate our sources in our essays, this was done by having a musical chair like setup where we had two minutes until we had to change partners. Bottom line, I'm not sure with would actually be better.

In some ways, that anonymous quality on the internet gives you more truthful feedback when you put something up. It makes the critique more honest. The problem about this is, however, that while somebody tells you that your work is pretentious or utter bullcrap, they tend to leave that out there and they don't not tell you why the piece is pretentious or bullcrap, which just kills the productive part of the critique and places it in the territory of ranting. There's no room for artistic growth and perspective if you don't know how to fix it or what the viewer's issue was with your work.
Also, trolls, but the scroll bar makes dealing with that easy.

you know, in most of the cases, it's the jerks that only talk in the comments, so it is full of negativity as there are a lot of jerks going around. And the nice poeple or simply the ones with common sense are the ones that talk the way you subscribe in the second panel.

Replace "troubled" with "confused," and you have the full polite sentence. Also, make him smile and look shy BUT HE IS READY. HE IS READY.

It works the other way round as well though. On the internet I can sincerely compliment people or their work, phrase my opinions, try to give advice and so on while when face to face with people I rarely comment on anything positively and I look indifferent, depressed or mad and probably come across as rude most of the time even if that's never my intention. It's so much easier to be able to add a to a comment to let people know that you are in fact not in a bad mood.

Yeah, the shield of anonymity can also help people feel more confident and secure to positive ends. There's no doubt about that. But I definitely feel like this is quite often overshadowed by its negative effects.

I agree. I find it comparably tame here on Deviantart, but on Youtube... some videos' comment sections are 90% people insulting the person who uploaded the video or each other for no reason. Not to mention those people who apparently only click on videos about shows they hate just to insult the series and/or the fans. Sure, why watch something you enjoy if you can click on stuff you hate and let everyone know...
But I find it amusing that if you reply to these comments in a calm and reasonable manner sometimes the people who seemed so hateful at first end up having a reasonable discussion with you. Some just want to talk but have a glob-awful way to ask for it, lol.

So true.
I sometimes misunderstand people, due to the lack of stuff such as commas and question marks and stuff. That's why I always try to use emoticons, and try to end all my sentences with a dot or something like that.
