holy moly, I may have marathoned through this page LOL these last two or three days I've had more free time on my hands than I've had in SO MANY MONTHS.
what, did you think the refrigerator reference from earlier wasn't a foreshadow? ;D

I have to say, this was a super, super fun page to draw XD How fast it was drawn also had a little to do with the fact most of this was done in only 3 colors (from the cut scenes in game) and it had minimal shading. It was a pretty experimental color scheme and style, but since its a flashback it seemed okay to have a little artistic liberty. And I think it turned out okay XD

*Stumbles across this comic randomly and starts binging* I love how in-character Sans feels in this. Some people flatten him into a caricature of puns and/or threats and violence, but your portrayal really feels like the Sans from the game.
My favorite panel from this page is Alphys losing her crap after the phone call. That flailing pose was just hilariously perfect.

ahh, I'm glad! I really worried about his portrayal in this since Sans isn't typically a talk-y guy, and, well. This comic is pretty much centered on what if he felt he needed to XD I'm glad you're enjoying!

I think Sans' tendency not to talk is at least partly based on his desire to protect the people he cares about from hard truths. After all, knowing about the time loops hurts, and he doesn't want his friends to feel as helpless as he does. The more people the protagonist has killed, the less he cares about them, and the more he's willing to impart harsh truths.
In this comic, it makes sense for him to talk, because the human isn't an ignorant and innocent bystander he wants to protect, or some random kid who fell into a harsh place and may or may not be the cause of his problem. They're confirmed to be the source of the anomaly, and chances are, there isn't much he could tell them that's worse than what they already know, so there's nothing left to protect them from.

So to avoid that happening? Just bury all your thoughts, feelings, emotions and memories aside from a pun-filled funny guy facade that would be easy to write off to any passerby for as long as possible into the foreseeable future XD;;
But yeah. Here, hes getting that feedback from the player that if he doesnt start talking now, he may never get the chance to right things ever again.

That interpretation makes a lot of sense. And, as Zarla pointed out, secrets are probably one of the few things Sans feels like he has any control over in his frustrating, out-of-control life.
At least now, by talking to the player and demonstrating his sentience, he can hopefully regain some semblance of control, or at least get them to use their control more wisely.

There's about 60 pages or so after this that have been scripted, but that's only about midway, maybe? through the comic. So there's still much more to come XD They're just very time consuming to create.

I wish you good luck with the rest of your comic, time travel concepts were pretty much abandoned at large for their complexity. I hope you keep your head straight in all this. I'm looking forward to how you go about the rest.

I read this yesterday and now I reread it cus its so good. Wow you did an awsome job on this comic and you should feel really good about it! Hands down the best comic I've read, and I have a feeling this is the best of the best. And I'm not disappointed. I don't generally give out this big of comments cus I feel like I will offend someone heh. But a comic this good deserves it. Keep up the amazing work!

I do certainly have spells where I feel the art itself isn't good enough (I'm a self taught artist, and one of the many purposes of this comic was to help me practice drawing more, potentially with things outside my comfort zone), or I'm portraying things in a way that's difficult to understand, so this is really nice to hear. This has definitely been a learning process for sure.

Wow, interesting turn here. So to confirm, the person who picked up the phone each time they made a call, were they all different people or the 'player'? Did the player only coincidentally pick up when Sans made the refrigerator joke?

The biggest thing to understand is that all the phone calls were from the past/very long ago, but the different calls were likely cherry picking different timelines to send to, is why you dont always hear all of them

[Edit] Also I forget to mention that every time, but it's been a while the resolution of the DA pages has become too low for the text to be fully readable in some panels. This time I actually had to check the tumblr page in order to be able to read at all (because of the four little text bubbles in the beginning). I think I'll go follow you on tumblr too anyway, but just in case you didn't know, you can actually manage manually the resolution of your images upon submission and/or edition. I always input "Original size" (or something like it) personally.

The only reason Ive kept the lower res is so people can see the whole panel at once on desktop (where I upload from). Because the other resolutions are waaay too big and you see like 1/10th of a panel XD which makes if difficult to read too, in a way (they certainly dont lack resolution these files are huuuge, its just the viewing setting I have them on)
But i can see how that's a problem. Huh. I'll have to figure something out with that.

There's usually the option to zoom in or out when the image is too big, and as far as I know it also works on mobiles.
Then again, you do what you prefer. As long as I can read on either DA or tumblr, guess it's fine by me :3

Alphys couldn't have known Gaster because she wasn't hired until LONG after Gaster was gone. That's a detail many seem to miss. Gaster disappeared, and a long time passed with no Royal Scientist. Then, eventually, Alphys meets Napstablook's cousin, builds a body for them, shows Mettaton off to King Asgore as a "human eradication robot" "with a soul", Asgore hires Alphys as Royal Scientist and puts her in charge of working with SOULs since she supposedly created one (which she didn't, Mettaton is a ghost in a robot body), and then Alphys starts the Determinaton Experiments and accidentally creates the Amalgamates and Flowey. At no point was she working with him. Alphys only knows and worked with Sans, NOT Gaster.
