David Marsden was the owner of a failing small business. He needed money fast, or he would lose his store. Desperate, he applied to be a research subject for a technological study. He thought the study was a new drug, but it was actually a human experiment. When he arrived to sign up for the study, he was captured and brought into the lab. For what seemed like forever he remained strapped on a table, endlessly having needles and lasers shot into him. After weeks, the experiment concluded. The moment one of his restraints was loosened, he busted out of all of them, and crushed the equipment with his bare hands. He darted about the room, faster than light, knocking out the scientists one by one. He then clenched his fists, rose into the air, and released a blast so powerful, it destroyed the entire building. Days passed. David found that he was given the power to control atomic blasts, as well as super strength and flight. While he was being studied, his family had been killed by the scientists. David became Reactor, swearing to protect the world from people like this, and to make sure nobody endured what he did, ever again.
