Description
This is only fan art. If used, please credit NerdsRIThis was a sprite/animation of Admiral Bobbery - the best partner in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - I decided to make on a whim yesterday. I wish I had recorded the process (I completely overestimated how long it would take to make him) because I am very pleased with the results. Funny enough, the piece that took the longest to make was the wheel on his back, and you don't even see half of it!
As for the feet, I took a select few frames of the Bob-omb from the original game and altered slightly the size and color of their feet to match Bobbery's palette. I also changed Bobbery's brownish color to a navy blue and increased his leg height, both in order to resemble more closely the Bob-ombs in-game. Perhaps I could have animated his mustache to bounce along with the sprite, but I don't think that is a necessary addition. I am very happy with the results as is.

Wow, I love this rendition! It would have been fun if Paper Jam made the crossover go this route instead of Mario & Luigi meet paper cut-outs.

Overall nicely done! I especially like the feet animation. Although I personally think he'd look better the original dark brown, the wheel is a bit jumpy, and some of the colors look a little off.
If nothing else though, you might reshape the hat so his eye is completely covered, it's jarring to see both Bobbery's eyes exposed.

Oh yeah, heh, I could never tell if he was wearing an eyepatch, or if his eye was covered by his hat (though in Paper Mario, it always seemed like you should be able to see both of his eyes. I may cover it up with an eyepatch or something). I have a dark brown version of Bobbery as a test, but the color makes it difficult to see the yellow rim of his hat.
As for the wheel, I completely agree. The choppiness is something I've noticed more and more as I look back at this animation. The individual frames of the wheel's animation of also very ugly, so thank goodness it's nearly covered up by his body. What seems to be off about the colors? Do they seem too dark, or too saturated, or something else? Thanks for the suggestions!

There's another Bob-omb from TTYD that has an eye patch so I always assumed that role was taken. It seems a stylistic choice to always have Bobbry's eye covered by the hat, and his brown is dark enough that it shouldn't interfere with the hat bill.
About the colors, Bobbery's mustache is more of an off-white dull tan. I also feel like you could saturate the wheel palette a bit and combine it with the brown for the body. Light grey for the hat bill also looks strange, I'd honestly recommend black or the AA grey with a highlight.
