I wanted to change her hairstyle the first time I saw it. It looked like too much like a reject of Sailor Moon's hairstyle.
The features I like from Mai is her neck. It's so ridiculously long that it's perfect in wearing chinese-collared dresses or turtlenecks. The haori actually covers most of Mai's sitting position which kinda throws the eye off the anatomy. I drew her figure on top of the haori to double check, and I was just being paranoid. I would love to have one of those, but I'll just have to settle for my thick blankets.
And I bear no ill-will towards Mai. I just happen to like Zutara more. Like, Zutara >>> Mai.

Is there any Madame Butterfly influence here, or is my operatic drama radar way off? Either way, it's beautiful. The fact that Mai was raised as a very quiet and obedient daughter (with knife-training) fits with the whole "tragic duty" vibe.

It's beautiful. The knife, a must accessory for Mai, is a very nice touch. I really love the subtle butterfly details in her haori. The new hair-do is also refreshing. Nice work!

Wow!! Mai's expression her is perfect! And I love her look her. Just absolutely so fitting! At least here she looks like a real lady of the court. Honestly, the way she looked in the show, I wouldn't be surprised if Bryke revealed that Mai was actually a guy.

I like most from the ones you haven't made yet would be Iroh and Ozai's and Azula and Ursa's. They're stories had so much emotion and I'd love to see you make illustrations of them like this.

I'm not a fan of Mai. I don't hate her, though. It's just that her character doesn't jump out to me, which is bizarre considering we're alike.

You think of such perfect titles! Could you please help me think of a title that fits my very emotional, sometimes tragic, upcoming fanfic.
It's about a girl named Miyako. She was living at the palace and engaged to her true love, Lu Ten when he fought shortly before he died. Now many years later, the war has ended and Miyako is in her twenties. She deals with grief and a mysterious new Earth Kingdom young man steals her heart. Will she be able to love someone after Lu Ten?
There are many subplots. Like the ever-popular theory, Ty Lee discovers she is an airbender, but this time while working with the Kyoshi warriors, she leaves to find Aang. Mai and Zuko's love relationship seems well but is not going to last long, for a certain someone has her eye on Zuko, since her other lover didn't seem to care and picked other girls over her. And NO! It is NOT Zutara. I don't want to offend you, but I really hate that ship. Aang and Katara have a few rocky moments when she believes he likes Ty Lee, his student. All is well in the end for them, and Mai finds a new man. But will the other subplots have happy endings? Will the main plot have a happy ending?
