Description It was from a comment from this post:

Asking if the hull is made from Explodium? Because they seem to explode like the Hindenburg.

Actually, the Mythbusters proved it was actually the hydrogen gas, not the explosive skin.

Anyways, this got me thinking about which Oberth class scouts that seemed to have met their end in a massive explosion?

From this site:

memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/O…

Only 11 confirmed Oberth class scouts with one more only mentioned by Dr. T'Ana.

And out of all of the confirmed ones that were destroyed, lost or wrecked, only 2 resulted in massive explosions:

- USS Grissom (Star Trek 3: The Search For Spock)
- USS Tsiolkovsky (The Naked Now)

The Grissom was the victim of, "A lucky shot," where the Klingon torpedo may have hit their warp core or an antimatter pod that would result in a massive explosion.

The Tsiolkovsky was repelled by the Enterprise's tractor beam that rammed it into the stellar mass that resulted in the explosion, most likely due to both the rupturing of the antimatter pods and the warp core.

But then if, "The Naked Now," had Discovery's budget and level of visual effects, it would probably look like how the USS Europa met her end with the ship deforming from the collision, then explodes due to the fuel detonating.

The comments was funny, but somewhat exaggerated.
