Description
The crew of a small independent ship finally touching down after a long haul. What will this new world have in store for them?I could have easily called this "The Forgotten Planet". I have no memory of setting this pic up for rendering. Came across it in my saved ideas archives. The date on the folder was March 16, 2010... so a week shy of four years ago I played with this idea and forgot about it. After all this time it still showed some promise so I tweaked it a bit and rendered it on out. Always interesting to explore things forgotten. Don't know if it was worth the wait, but I hope you find it pleasing

Very cool image. I can imagine them talking about where to find a hotel room and to get something to eat and maybe a couple of tall cold ones. Well done.

Of course, it wasn't after traveling a few gazillion miles in a cramped, slightly uncomfortable spaceship either.

Thanks very much. I can't remember if I showed to you or not. I don't remember the pic itself when I was working on it.
I don't recall using that name before though I have used the theme… people in star ports and such. Anyway I'll trust your memory over mine
Glad you like it… again

Don't know how you've done it but there's actual motion in this pic, they are strolling towards us (and chatting). "Admirable" is the word!
(Plus the NICELabs(c) 500,000 miles of background.... I feel so inadequate with my occassional brick wall )

I don't know how I did it either. I put the models together about 4 years ago it seems and I have no memory of ever doing it Glad you like whatever it was I had in mind
Well… my work ends where the buildings do. Remember I use a lot of background images in post work. Just slapped on one in back to give it the depth. I really envy your brick walls. So very detailed and never out of place I have problems with the close up things were people can really see I'm kind of faking it.

"Yah, ok... just let us order this time. Last time it took an hour to convince you that lemur wasn't a choice of toppings."
".................................. but I like lemur."
"sigh...."

I find it pleasing indeed! Wish I was this good 4 years ago.
Actually 4 years ago I wasn't doing 3D but instead playing competition darts.
The scene is awesome & you could not have picked a better sky. Love it!

heh thanks I did give it better lighting and of course my version of poser and my computer is a bit beefier than back then, so if I had rendered it at the time I don't think it'd be as good. For the background I blended two pics... one being a hubble shot of the Andromeda Galaxy overlayed into the sky
Competition Darts... very cool. I can't throw to safe my life (if I can see what I'm doing... ironically when my eyes are closed I do much better). Last time I threw a frizbee I ended up smacking a friend in the face... who was standing three feet to my right.

That's a class story!
Great call merging two images like that. It looks brilliant mate.
Kudos to raw processing power, better software & a four-year tea break.
