I love this style, and am surprised that I did not see this piece before. The way the curving lines of the fingerprints creates an underlying movement for the piece. Since the image takes place in the mountains the fingerprints work well as both the sky and the mountains--one can say that the motion creates a sense of wind blowing through these mountains. The image of the single child peering down is beautiful. The child seems to be thinking how small he is in contrast to the vast mountain range around him. The overall shading and lighting of this piece is done with expertise. The piece itself is powerful and incredible! I do wonder how NicholasJolly is capable of creating a moving piece with using the fine details in a fingerprint. Again another beautiful work of art!

What an interesting piece. The swirling movement of the strokes definitely adds another dimension to the piece. To me, it gives the idea of the whole universe flowing and changing, and I like the contrast of the solidity of the figure on the hill, a completely static anchor point, at odds with the universe around it. Aside from being a fascinating visual technique, it carries the conceptual overtones of it being the fingerprint of matter itself. Quite Van Gogh-ish in that it is an impressionism that goes beyond realism, filling the empty spaces with the unseen currents of life that are there for those able to see it.

I love this piece as well as your other work. But this one seems to cry out another meaning. The first thing I thought of when I saw this pieceΒ was ofΒ Shelley's 'Mount Blanc'. How small humans are compared to nature, that's what I got out of the drawing^^ Beautiful work:3

Quite interesting style what you do. This use of lines makes the entire composition so moving and expressive. I feel the inspiration of Van Gogh's work a bit. But it's total different with ink and pen, it could require a lot of patience and time, but turned out as an excellent and unique work. Well done!
