Ah, okay! Thanks so much for the advice! I didn't want to buy too little or too much, since the closest fabric store is kinda expensive. And the Michaels tip is great. Lucky for me, I have some felt that I got from there for an old project. And they are just the colors I'll need for the extras on the hat.
