Also thanks a lot for the tutorial tried with fire texture and worked just as well!
But do you find the textures created from apothysis better?

Fascinating and quite interesting, but I have never heard of this "World Machine" and that seems very important for this.

Hmm... fractals and displacement maps... i can't say that idea ever crossed my mind.
its an interesting method with great results

Nice! I think this will be useful. If I make any more attempts at space art anyway...

It's great
But one question, shouldn't there be 22 instead of 222?
I'm not sure, but 2x 22 worked better for me than 22 and 222
π: 0 β©: 1
nisht In reply to R3V4N [2009-11-27 15:32:13 +0000 UTC]
well it depends on how dense are your lines after resizing that little line of color, try different ratios on the displace filter,i used 22x222,but if it works for you 2x22 than great!
i really dont know how to explaine that part, guess its more a subject of experimentation, anyways, glad you like it,cant wait to see the results!!

R3V4N In reply to nisht [2009-11-27 15:38:01 +0000 UTC]
True, I tried some other settings and they work great as well
But I'll have to study that displacement, I wasn't using it before and I still have to spend some time for it.
Also I wanted to ask about fractals, should they be like yours or it doesn't really matter? And which variations were you using for them?
I guess I'll upload one really soon

well fractals basicliy any kind works, they should be rendred at a fairly hi quality,i think i used linear.try different typs i think you cant miss, and yeah the displacement filter is pretty cool just try out stuff,i even made some maps of solid planets with it here:

I think that displacement might be entertaining I'll give it a shot for sure
Thanks for the support mate!

Nice tutorial. You know there's also a program called stratagen that can create those lines automatically with high detail.. it might be some help if you want lots of banding!
