Hey, fantastic tutorial, really easy to follow, trying it out for the first time and when I get to colouring, when using colour balance it only colours the bottom third, I guess, of the image. Is this a common thing or have I gone wrong somewhere? XD

A very informative tutorial, thank you so much!
One thing I have to say though is I found it confusing and hard to follow the way you layed it out, I had to make a simplified version with steps...but maybe that's just me!
Again thank you for an amazing tutorial, shall go play now!

Nice tutorial. The exact method didn't quite work for me, cause one of the blend modes you used doesn't work on GIMP, but I found a way around that.

Well I'm ever searching for space tutorials so I'll keep this in mind. Not to mention I could use this on some other project for general clouds.

I already commented once- but I was wondering if you could offer some guidance.
I'm struggling to create more defined cloud edges, and i'm not sure where I'm going wrong. All my clouds seem to blurred, even though I haven't applied any blur. I'm also working in GIMP rather that photoshop, so I'm trying to convert this tutorial for my use

hm...well could be cause of gimp maybe?never really tried it,so i cant help you cause i dont know what could blur the clouds except a blur filter, sorry for this shity comment i really dont know....there is one tip i can give you thou,is there an emboss filter in gimp?if so you could emboss the layer and then fade it somehow,in PS thers a fade command after a filer is applied, maybe this could work, sorry if this comment doesnt help you, hope things work out well,

wow cool, that's a great way to make a nice looking nebula without a tablet. Thanks for the share.
Btw, you don't need to flatten your image all the time. Everything you have to do is to create a new layer on top, and then go over to image --> apply image, that will copy your current state on one single layer.
