I feel like you would have better results if you took account of where the light/shading hits the horse. Just my opinion. :b

Oh, well it just doesn't really look like you do light sources since in your pixels it's a bit scattered, haaha.

i understood the imaginary light source. i use an imaginary one on everything. like i use a light source. ha.

had a quick question, why don't you just skip step three by coloring it in brown anyway?

Because if the body is brown, and the hair is brown, it gets a bit confusing.
You can do it however you'd like. This is just my way.

no, I meant why shade grey... then change it to brown if that makes sense XD

No I know what you mean...
I just mean that I make it like that to separate the colors of the body and hair and all of that. Because both the body and the hair could be brown so when I'm shading it, I might not be able to tell the difference from the body and hair.
