Description I know I said I wouldn't post any of my Marvel art until I had submitted it, but I couldn't resist sharing just this little bit. This is a detail from my latest finished painting of Marvel characters Cloak & Dagger. It's about 99% traditionally painted in acrylics and just barely touched-up in Photoshop to add effects and balance the contrast. Believe it or not her face is really about the size of a nickel and entirely painted by hand! I'll post the full image fairly soon, but you can get an idea of what the entire image looks like by checking out the value study for this piece in my gallery.

Thanks for looking!

I'm fascinated by the aura of light you painted. Wow! how can you do that? Airbrush or something? It's very good I like it.

Yeah Cloak and Dagger are really cool characters, but they don't really get used to their full potential. There was talk a while ago about a C&D movie but I doubt if it'll ever get made...

Awesome, I love the cloak and dagger story, you just don't see them much any more. The last time I saw them was in one of the first few Runaways comic. Of coarse I haven't picked up many comic since then soo....

Her are seem a bit thin, but then again she was supposed to be anorexic or something originally. Wasn't that thier original story they were drug addict runaways before being given these special powers... Anyway, I know I like seeing them pop up occasionally.

Cloak and Dagger are a couple of my favorite characters and they definitely do need to get used more often. I made Dagger rather lean because she is supposed to have a dancer's body, so I modeled her after some pictures I saw of dancers at a ballet.

Tremendous...you have really out done yourself...

She is really one powerful looking Dagger..makes my Viking Horns seem somewhat insignificant ...somehow.Amazed by the fantastic glow that you have achieved, and her hair is just to die for.
Can't imagine what it must have been like to paint the face,or how long it must have taken for you to prise open your fingers to release the brush...that was attatch to your eyes......(sorry could'nt resist)...
The colours of the souls are a great contrast and look magnificent.....

*patiently awaits..as per usual*

I'm glad I could impress the mighty vikingness! I think you'll like the entire finished piece too, as I'm really happy with how it finally came together.

I'm also working on an Incredible Hulk piece now that's a little bit quirky and a touch "high-concept". Hopefully that one will knock your socks off too!
I aims to please!!!

Stunning is all I can say, you must have had a painful hand painting this kind of detail

Keep up the wonderful work, I'll be overjoyed with more XD

Actually, my hand was okay... it was my eyes that started to give out first!

I'm really glad you enjoy my work. Hearing such things make losing my eyesight worth it.

Awwww ^.^
Can imagine the blurred sight (and upcoming migraine) at the end of the work lol XD

I actually trimmed down this comment because I didn't know then "you were back", and I thought "don't overdo it or he might have a fit XD" coz I thought I had ^.^

These lost souls faces, they seem to scream for redemption they couldn't possible ever get because they are so torn. I love the way the blue tones compliment the white haze of bright light surrounding the woman with the beautifully cynical dieing grimace; I'll leave in the middle whether or not it's actually the other way around

"Believe it or not her face is really about the size of a nickel and entirely painted by hand!" --> I take your word for it, but I think my eyes would scrape over the floor if I had to witness this in real life

Thanks. I'm really happy with how it turned out. There were a couple of those "What the hell am I doing?" moments with this piece, but in the end, it all worked out for the best!

Well, I guess every painting has its "whathe hell am I doing?" moments. And I think they're good because it often happens that you come up with something new and cool
I really, really love how it turned out
