so I'm trying to make a lighting transmutation circle but I can't quite figure out how to make it... I keep getting confused and such... any ideas?

Well lightning is just a high voltage, low current burst of electrons. Basic electricity. A symbol for a lightning bolt will get you a long way to begin. You might check some of my electrical arrays and see if you can get any ideas.

I love this! Not just for helping me out in creating an OC, but in general I find this stuff interesting. Cool!

Thanks to your materials, I have (hopefully) made a successful transmutation circle for separating salt from water in another container!

3 is to do a transmutation without boundary. Like if I used such an array at the bottom of a pool, I could break it down into oxygen and hydrogen and create a fast explosion. However, if I wanted to do that with a glass of water, I could do so using 4 and placing the glass over the array. Then, it would only effect the glass of water inside the array, not the pitcher of lemonade I place on the counter just outside the array for the sake of demonstration.

holy crap this is amazing! I actually never knew like what ANYTHING meant like the how well why the circle and triangles and little circles and so on and so on, this totally explained it thats awesome thanks! But one question: you said you dont have to have a triangle, instead of one what else could you use and would they affect the transmutation at all??

Square, Pentagon, anything, really. It depends on the transmutation you want done.

so what would be difference between them? like if u put a square in it instead of a triangle would it actually make a difference to the outcome?

So a question, I don't mean to be pessimistic about it, but it is knows to the society today that this would appear to be fictional. You see, I intend to study alchemy in the future but it seems like this has some sort of a fictional theme to it. However, it looks as if it can me used in the field of Alchemy, so I was just wondering how it is used. Like, do Alchemist have certain tools they place in certain places to use it, or do they have some power that infuse the substances together? I'm sorry if I'm blabbing... I do it a lot. but yeah. I was just wondering. Although this seems very amusing.. I will have to try it out sometime. Of course just for the fun of it. I am not actually going to transmute anything, (if there is such a thing). But Thank You. Stay well! Live well.

The transmutation circle is like the instructions for the reaction. However, a large amount of energy is required to make the reaction work. Unfortunately, on this side of the gate, the best source of energy is yourself. On the other side, you can use the lives of those who die on this side in wars. But the gate is almost one way. It is still possible here, however it is far more taxing. The world is made up solely of forces. Matter is but a highly complex arrangement of forces. Alchemy is the rearrangement of those forces to create another arrangement of forces. It is used by transferring force from your body to the circle, and the circle then rearranges the forces to what you were making. Of course, the circle is not the complete set of instructions. It would have to be far, far more complicated to fully describe a transmutation. You have to learn how to channel the force from yourself to the circle in such a way that you create that which you end up with. If you want further help, you can email me at axelmanton@gmail.com

Alchemy is a cool science so i wish to obtain skills from it and learn it.
Thank you very much!

It is all just a form of art that is visually appealing and works great for OC characters in the FMA world. I don't imagine alchemy with my little arrays will ever be remotely possible, but should it ever be, then I only hope my name is remembered in some little corner.

To actually perform a transmutation is impossible. This is just a fictional art, sadly.

well, it can't be used to actually perform a transmutation, but it can be used to explain a chemical reaction (ex. photosynthesis).

So what would i do to take the wood in my desk and shape a cube? its kinda confusing. (im aware of FMA transmutation being fake but i just wanna goof around with the transmutation stuff)

so how would i do a transmutation circle for shaping wood on my desk into a cube (im aware of it not being real aka Anime but i still gonna say) also how do i put it back so i dont destroy my desk
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Notshurly In reply to Dylancn [2012-01-05 02:29:44 +0000 UTC]
That would just require a very simple transmutation circle. One that uses a square as the main shape rather than a triangle. Everything else is for the alchemist and his mind. Same with putting it back.

Also, I thought the shapes on the inside don't matter. But that there are shapes that can continue the flow of energy, but you need Alchemical symbols. Either the symbols form shapes like the ones the Elrics used as kids on the floor or Roy's transmutation circle... or there are shapes with symbols into the design.

Notshurly In reply to Dylancn [2013-12-24 00:55:17 +0000 UTC]
The shapes on the inside trump symbols any day. I could make amazingly complex arrays that don't involve a single alchemical symbol. Though symbols do help simplify everything dramatically.

I imagine wood would (see what I did there?) require Earth arrays.

I took a class on AutoCAD drafting software (the kind used to design models of parts for manufacture & etc.) and found that, while the circular text is beyond me still, I could fairly easily draw these kinds of circles and more, with greater precision than I could ever do by hand. Only problem is that it only saves it in autocad drawing format, its not able to shift to jpg. or gif. without printing and rescanning the images developed.
Food for thought.

I believe you can format or convert the images into a JPEG format. Or, should worst come to worst, you can always just use the PrtSc and edit that screenshot, then save it separately.
