I was wondering if I could demo breast dynamics with water balloons. Although I didn't have any as a reference, I tried to logically deduct how they they would behave. I find that water balloon with a string depicts the basic idea of breast dynamics rather well. As I'm not blessed with the privilege of having breasts, my points derive from my observations. Feel free to correct me if you find that I'm completely wrong.This demo is more like an intro for possible breasts demonstration part 2. But before the real thing, it's good to know the dynamics behind the breasts.
Numerable factors affects the shape all the time: the body position, motion, clothing... to mention some. Whatever force is manipulating the breasts, the gravity always takes place in some way or another. Obviously, the size of the breasts is a significant factor: the larger they are, the more evident the manifestation of gravity is. The basic shape is pretty much like a water drop, if the breast is hanging free. Here I demonstrate rather big breasts on flat surface.
Regardless of the size, it's the shape that make breasts attractive. So when I draw breasts, I:
-Apply gravity and support (force and opposite force).
-Make them look soft and squishy, yet firm

This should be mandatory learning material before even attempting to draw a girl with large breasts... It would prevent all the fake crap you see all the time from guys who dont have a clue how breasts work

You could say that the strings are the supportive tissue that keep the breasts in place. It fights against the gravity, thus opposite force.
It was fun to draw, though I prefer drawing smaller and cuter breasts ^^'.

No problem!
I recommend going with a lot smaller breasts though. They are a lot easier to handle, as the forces affecting them aren't as strong. I may draw part 2 some time, to demonstrate the dynamics even further

The uh... "random variable" dowel demos are pretty funny. And quite accurate. As a possessor of larger breasts, I should know. I also know that Gravity is a factor, and is a self-righteous bitch on wheels.

Actually, it's probably an evolutionary trait. You see, male apes are attracted to the rears of females, which show their readiness to copulate. As we evolved into bipeds, the butt became less immediately visible, so scientists have theorized that breasts formed as a replacement.
As for size... well, if breasts represent ability to copulate and fertility, it is only right to surmise that bigger boobs means a better mate. Plus, they produce the food for babies, so it's a subconscious thought that bigger jugs hold more milk. Even though it's not true.
Plus, they're fun.

Heh, they make things easier, but at some point larger breasts will look rather weird, at least based on my experience. It's also style dependent thing. As I strife for lovely anatomy, it's given that the breasts will look like that on my drawings

I already know how good you are when it comes to drawing realistic and attractive breasts, but something tells me you must be a master when it comes to depicting breast fondling too!

Thanks. I'm yet to master fondling though. It requires a lot of understanding how the fingers sink into the skin, which I haven't mastered yet. I'm working on that though
