Description For NationStates; Modeled in DoGa with no comments from my personal peanut gallery, so here goes nothing...

----

Introduced late in '175 as a companion to the 'Type-W, the 'Bandit is aimed straight at the frontier family market. Sturdy, tough, and reliable - though not particularly stylish - it is virtually solid-state and thus very nearly maintenance-free. Powered by a bio-catalyst reactor, it is only available as a repulsor-craft with this being the most rock-solid unit that OSAMI could license. The design is an open t-top two-person cabin and half-bed that sits behind the reactor and fuel tanks. This configuration makes it extremely friendly to modification - basically everything important is mounted ahead of the steering wheel - and both personal modification and after-market kits are extremely common.

The vehicle depicted shows off a good number of those possible modifications. Run out of the Last Peso Ranch on Rio Sanchez, it is one of a dozen 'Bandits operated by the outfit. This one is used as an outrider on the tourist-friendly 'cattle drives' the ranch puts on - the birds come big on Rio Sanchez. Real big. They also come out at night so a light high-cycle railgun with a spotlight is mounted on the t-bar, as well as a manually-loaded grenade launcher for flash-bangs and other sensory deterrents. A brush guard serves for pushing new paths through the local wire-weed, which is also a good fuel source. Most of the ranch's 'Bandits have the optional grinder upgrade, which will reduce biomass into the chips used by the reactor.

Additional fuel canisters are carried in bolted-on racks, and two large tool chests are mounted outside of the bed above the rear repulsor pods. The standard interior is sparse with even seats being technically 'optional'. This one has two up front and another two in the back, as well as an actual dashboard with storage, infotainment, and system controls. Yes, the dashboard is also optional. Other common kits include campers, heavy sensor rigs - the 'Bandit is popular with various research outfits - and doors. Yes, doors are optional.
