Not a bad theory.

Well, I think that if had, they probably might not have done as much damage to the franchise as Mattel did.

  • They probably wouldn't have the engines bouncing around like Chuggers.
  • They would be more into vibrant colours than realism (I bet Rosie would've appreciated that, since they'd've had the sence to keep her in her original livery)

The only drawbacks would've beenΒ
A) They've put on an American twist, like with Winnie-the-Pooh when they first did it.
B) All the feature-length episodes/movies would be musicals.

So, there are pros and cons to such a conception as this. Question is, would one outweigh the other, or would they both weigh evenly?

What about the fan-made content?

The reason why Disney won't buy TTTE is because of the supring amount of fan-made content that the TTTE fanbase has worked too hard on...

I think there's a reason to why Disney never adapted the series.

Indeed. Too much like Cars and even Starlight Express...

That, and probably because of ownership rights.

They might have got on, but something tells me Mr. Awdry might have said something about a disagreement with Disney's views on Jews...

then again, both have had experience with their creations going wrong. Disney losing Oswald to Charles Mintz due to legal uses and ownership, and Awdry with early years of trying to adapt the Railway Series into television, but with both, trouble with fandoms and their characters in the modern world.
