Description This week I've been making some future visions of Kohta, the Orc Samurai main character in my webcomic, where he's thinking on where his actions might take him in the future. The panels came out so well I thought I'd share them here aswell.

The first vision is a future where he sees himself as a noble samurai, peaceful and honourable.

Hm...I've just come across you and I'm quite interested in this comic, especially since I have created a samurai/ronin OC for an original story, but never really continued to write for it.

I imagine Manako: my character, would never even imagine a future like this vision, for as a corpse-possessing demon hell-bent on revenge and saving the world at any and all costs, he sees nothing for himself in the future, but maybe for everyone else.

Woah sounds cool.

Yeh Kohta is very naΓ―ve about how the world is, most of what he's heard of Samurai comes in the form of childhood stories and books that romanticised them a bit too much. Plus he's still quite young and self centred, notice in each of the future visions whether he's good or bad, he's still a great warrior and theΒ centre of attention.

He's a good guy he just needs a bit more experience, which it looks like he's going to get.

Well sadly; Manako didn't get to be naive, or particularly young when he started his seeming unending journey.

Manako was already a Samurai in service to his Lord, when demons assaulted the city in the night, killing everyone, save him.

Oh no, the Oni in charge, who quite ironically appeared to be as if she were somehow his wife's doppelganger; decided to "reward" him for actually injuring her by turning him into a body-snatching demon.

You can get the rest from what I did post, but he was already keen on his future, believing he and his family would simply live in peace, only for that to be ripped away violently.

So I would say that if Manako met Kohta, he'd probably be melancholic about when he used to be like that, long before he even met his late wife.

Yeah...I'm pestered often by others who I tell the concept to, to keep writing it. But I cannot work on something I don't have inspiration for.

I wrote the beginning well enough, I always have good start-ups, but when it comes to the rest of the story, I can only know what will happen in my mind, and be unable to consider the finer details.

I already know the whole plot for the story on a "big picture" scale, enough to write a summary or even something you'd read on the back of a book cover, but I just...sigh...you might understand what I mean.

I do understand mate, I've had that problem with a couple of my works aswell, including KTS.

Β

I always had the general idea of what the comic was about, and most of the major plot points, I just didn't know how to connect them all, how to write all the in-between pages. I've gotten better at it over time and it helps that I've kept ahead of the uploads with KTS, but I made aΒ big mistake with that in my other comic, starting plots where I didn't know where they were going etc.

Β

It was a real problem, something I'm very keen to avoid happening again. So I plan everything I can ahead of time, things turn out better that way.

Do you have a link to that comic?

I don't think that I can link directly to the comic from here because of DA linking rules.

The webcomic contains mature content, violence, swearing, nudity, some sex, basically like an episode of Game of Thrones I suppose, but I'm pretty sure that DA doesn't allow direct links to mature content.

If you still want to check out the comic though, just type Kohta the Samurai Webcomic into Google, and that should take you to it
