Description
If I had a therapist, they'd probably tell me this was some sort of creepy metaphor for my closet bronyhood.Lucky for me, I can't afford therapy and just draw pictures of ponies.

Saddles in the show are rare, but some examples are Twilight wearing a fleece-like one in Winter Wrap-Up (the same one shown above) as one would wear a winter coat, and there have been some background ponies wearing fancy-looking saddles in place of wearing dresses, even though dresses are more common. And then you have Spike in Owl's Well That Ends Well finding a frilly-looking saddle of Twilight's, which he holds up like a pair of panties (lingerie, perhaps?) , so I guess different styles have different uses, like regular clothing. I don't recall any stallions wearing one, though.

And yeah, getting busted cross-dressing is the implication.
(Spike has been known to wear frilly aprons in-episode, so canonically he might just be Tim Curry from Rocky Horror and Twilight walks in to stuff like this all the time.)

But if he wears that stuff already then how is this supposed to be weird after he puts on the saddle? Thats like having a friend who drags then being shocked when you walk in on him trying out some cosplay
Unless one can interpret this as hes imitating ponies, mocking Twilight, or has a genuine curiosity about saddles... which in this world should be alot weirder because why would any [literally speaking] pony want to wear one at all if its a human to horse sort of deal... and ponies are really tiny so a saddle would not make sense... *damn me for over thinking cartoon*
