There is actually a hidden face in this picture. The folks that were in my stream last night got it pointed out to them, but I want to see how many folks can see it. Here's a few small hints or well large ones: think skull and to see it better zoom out.This girly is named Yanira you folks might recognize her older rendition from the image of the nomads I posted.
As a younger girl Yanira was a bit of an oddball. She frequently would throw caution to the wind and explore the less traveled regions of their planet. Due to her unusual behaviors and impulses to save/assist all manners of beasts she is seen as an outcast in her community. Honestly many found her unnerving. This made it very difficult for Jierya (Her brother) to find people to watch over her during his extended absences.
You Guys are gonna see more of this girlie I promise you that.

I think the composition of this piece is probably the most spectacular thing about it, your use of tone and shade to emphasize the figure in the middle, etc. etc. Really nice to see that everything has a focus and it all leads to that focus. A strong composition is what can really make a picture, so you nailed it here.
The colours you've chosen are rather interesting- I love the pinks and reds, but it does cause some of the shading you've done on the lined trees in the foreground to become a bit murky. Ultimately because you have them all nicely inked this is a minor gripe, but I know you spent a lot of time on that! It's worth taking note of the way you've deliberately faded a lot of those lines into the background as the picture gets taller, though, which is a great effect.
I think possibly if you'd shaded more of those glowy bits on the threes in green, your character's eyes would have stood out more than they do. Because they're the only thing glowing in that colour in the whole picture I actually don't focus as much on them as I feel like I'm meant to. Another small gripe, but it might have given it that touch more impact. Also, are those gemstones in the trees? Awesome idea- thy might benefit from some slightly stronger highlights, though, or perhaps some reflection from those glowing flakes that are scattered around. It's a really hard thing to do light sources when you're in a misty area, so honestly anything I'm pointing out is really minor and I applaud you for taking the time to try something like this.
The level of detail is fantastic, as usual.
(Also DA's critique star rating system sucks. It's clearly geared more for critiquing ideas rather than actual art, so instead of that bullcrap you get composition notes and colour stuff <3)

Holy frig how gorgeous :0 The lighting is just spectacular, sparkly but hidden at the same time, like a place really tucked away or secret~ I really lovehow you draw trees, the gnarled roots or curved up branches are beautiful~
And it's so strange, just a couple days ago I was sketching a skull shaped light behid a forest...!

I was going for a kinda tucked away hard to find cove of sorts, so that is perfect!

I didn't see it at first in the stream but then I looked away from the drawing for a moment. As soon as i looked back, it was ALL I could see, now that I wasn't looking for something small and hidden.

In many ways their planet is pretty dangerous/threatening but in many others it is a beautiful tranquil place. Suppose every world has its ups and downs though, if you broke down earth trying to explain it to another species I think they would find it to be a terrifying place.
