Description
SIDE NOTE: Please note that this tutorial is a few years old and my own art has improved a lot since then. I will eventually update this, or upload a new one completely. In the mean while, I do hope it helps!*edit* due to dA issues with showing the damn tut, i had to reupload it, no preview image. Sorry for inconvenience with that stupid downloading.

The long awaited anatomy tutorial is finished! I hope it helps people, I hope it's satisfactory... It took me forever to do it... oO; This is obviously not for anyone that knows a lot about anatomy already- it's a tutorial to help people that don't know much or need help improving. Please ignore any spelling mistakes... I'm sure they're there even though I did look it over a few times. I do indeed hope this helps people. It's hard to cram something as complex as human anatomy into a little tutorial like this, but at any rate, I still hope some people will find it useful, even if it's not exactly perfect....
Sorry if there's anything I failed to mention- like I said, there is just so much information, it's hard to fit it all in.
Thanks! Enjoy.
Edit: Sorry for the long loading time... >>;;;
EDIT: DISCLAIMER!!! I do not claim to know everything there is to know about anatomy nor do I claim to have a perfect knowledge. I KNOW this tutorial is flawed and is not a perfect shining example of EXACT proportionate anatomy. Please understand this tutorial is not designed to cause you to draw LIKE me- but give you a basic understanding of skeletal structure, muscle structure and how it all fits together. Find your own style and work off more than one source. I do not claim this is the only way you can learn anatomy. You should study from multiple sources, but this can be a good foundation to get you started in an UNDERSTANDING. Again, I do not claim to know all, so do not think that I am. Thank you.
comments and faves appreciated.

I never saw this before... lol. Um, thank you for your well thought out critique....
If you read the description on this, you will have seen that this tutorial is actually /old/ and I do know it's not actually very good in a lot of ways, but it was what I was capable of at the time and a lot of friends wanted me to make it, so I did. I never professed to be well, a professional. It was simply stuff I knew and information I thought would be helpful. Take it however you want, useful, good or not.

Do you have any tips on how to go about learning anatomy as in copying muscle anatomy etc.? It would really help

odduckoasis In reply to Little-pear [2012-08-18 07:02:01 +0000 UTC]
Well, for references, you can always buy those muscles magazines, they provide exaggerated muscles for your reference so better to understand how things interconnect. Other cheap anatomy references are from comic books, which helped me a lot. A competent comic book retailer would know which comic books have good artwork and will recommend which books you'd most likely be able to use as a good resource. Of course, all comic book stores will allow you to look on the inside of a comic (under their supervision) to see if the artwork within is a high quality reference. (As cover art does not always indicate what is inside, as sometimes covers are drawn by different artists than the comic itself).
Other than using references and practicing, that's the only advice I can give. Also, you can trace to help learn connections, as long as you do not finish something with traced work- as that's just basically cheating.
Good luck!

Weird question but may I please download this as a reference? It's just so I don't have to keep going on the internet when I want to try to draw someone, and the tutorial's really good

this was so useful xD though i have a little trick that i learned from personal experience that always used to help me before i found this.
the length of the forearm is directly proportional to the length of your foot
but that was just a little funfact. other than my useless randomness, this is fantastic.
i love you for this ._.

just like if you spread your thumb and index, its nearly the length of your hand if not a little bigger or smaller, your thumb is the length of the outer side of your palm, your big toe is as big as your pinky, and the length between the middle of your inner ankle is the same as your middle finger. o.o... i've learned this from experimenting on myself and other people when i learned about the forearm and foot theory when i was like 10 XD done it in the past couple years too, haha.. i'm weird..
