It's LONG!! fair warning. xD; Took me quite a few hours to complete. Another project I just got wound up in and had to complete. Now I can move on to other things easier. xD;
I hope it's helpful, never done a tutorial before... oO;

edit: xD;; I was informed the sizing was wrong before for the hand. I realized my mistake, the hand was held too high. It's fixed now... sorry about that!!!

Wow, that was awesome. I have struggled with hands for years and an hour after reading this a drew the first hand pic I've ever been proud off. Awesome way of explaining it, so many professional books make it look so hard you feel like your going cross-eyed staring at their demos. Cheers so much, have put my first hand in my gallery case you want a look- see.

I usually hide the hands behind the characters back or give them long sleeves that cover their hands and stuff xD

What sort of trouble is it? One of the best ways to see the palm, first draw your basic shape of the hand- minus fingers and thumb. Then place two ovals on the inside of the shape (usually a rectangle)and use that as a base for the muscles of the hand. Does that help?

Can you explain more on how to do a hand that's just hanging by someone's side?? Sorry I get really confused!! Nice tutorial though!!

The best advice I have for you is to look for pictures with people's arms more in a relaxed position. Or, Look at yourself in the mirror, or even hold your hand up in a relaxed position. Hands that hang down on the side are seen from the side, they don't face completely palm up or palm down when the subject is facing the 'camera' as it were. I hope that helps you some. The best way is to study hands and positions in order to understand them better.
