Very cool audition. I especially like the glow effect from inside Big Bad. That sword looks pretty wicked, bad news for sure.

It's really good work there! Nice and smooth flow with the images allowing the ready to travel through the story. Curious about the girl and the monsters ... nice drama with the others in the background whispering things.
I hate doing comic balloons; the two programs I've been using, Photoshop CS2 and Illustrator CS2, are a pain in the ass ... Photoshop I can use with some skill and Illustrator is so fusterating.

I like the simplicity of comiclife, as it allows you to change the size, shape and orientation of the word balloon and the "tail". I usually just make the word balloons in the program and paste them in with photoshop rather than using the program because it likes to auto-crop/re-size which is super lame.

Have to check that program out ... I have Manga Studio 3.0. Not tried that one yet.
