Someone asked me to explain my process...in detail x.x so here it is. This is my first time trying a tutorial so I'm sorry if it's lacking x.x I hope this can be helpful to someone and if all else fails now I can just point to it rather then explain myself X3
here's a link to the finished version: [link]

Do you use Microns to add the extra line weight/variants too?? (sorry if this was asked already ) cuz those are what I use to ink with as well, and was just curious

okashichan In reply to tira-chan [2005-02-22 07:47:59 +0000 UTC]
Yup I do, microns all the way here, usually the .005 or the .01. Something really fine to go back over the lines with.

I used to always use the .005 too, but the lines would barely show up when I scanned (tho I've learned since then to set my scanner correctly) I find myself too impatient lately to use the itty-bitty tips like that. .03 and .05 are my best inking friends now, hehe~ tho I will still use the lil' tips to add to areas, and for touch ups ^^

The lines are amazing, but the marker work is amateur, I dont see why this would get a daily dev??
π: 0 β©: 1
okashichan In reply to kameryn [2005-02-22 05:50:33 +0000 UTC]
Actually the marker work isn't as I'm not, but art's a relative thing so you're entitled to your own opinion about it. However comments like this are just needlessly being rude, in this case probably to get a rise but it ain't happening kid. No one thing is more deserving for a DD then another. It got a DD because someone, obviously not you, liked it and recommended it, and that other person agreed. That's it. Not everyoneβs going to like everything picked so there's no need for your blatant attempt at starting a fight.

my apologies, that was a little out of place, and Im suprised that got a rise out of you at all, at least to get that much of a response! LMlilAO... none the less I humbly withdrawel U___U... It just frustrates me that none of the artists I see that far surpass the mediocre caliber of 'daily deviation' go unrecognized, daily dev should be something more deliberate and decided by consensus rather some arbitrative selection...

okashichan In reply to kameryn [2005-02-22 06:49:23 +0000 UTC]
I think you might be misunderstanding the DD system. As far as I understand it, the DD is made to counter the consensus vote. That's what DTF's and DTP's are for. Those are based on the majority love factor. DD's are for lesser known artists or works so that people who see their work, and appreciate it and wish it to have more exposure can recommend them, and if someone else thinks it's appreciate-able as well they get a DD.

Ahaha I wasn't being touche, I was just pointing out the misunderstanding X3! And I don't like my prisma's, they dry out too easy, you can have them *puts them in the box all nice and everything* X3

CreamKit In reply to okashichan [2005-02-22 07:33:02 +0000 UTC]
Um, confusion on 'touchy' and touchΓ©? 'Touche', I'm guessing, was the compliment and not the offensive. . . . Lahdeedah, nice contribution to the DA community here. This short thread also got me noggin a-joggin, you two. Although the lit for the tutorial is somewhat hard to follow, I think it's well structured and a good step-by-step angle on the possibly intimidating ritual for Copics.
PS, I likes the little touch of preference toward plain paper versus marker paper. Personally, I think the backside of a drawing on printer paper looks really interesting when done with Copics; ipso facto it is for more professional situations that I use marker paper.

Personally I'm surprised the step by step's coherent as I rarely ever am when trying to explain how I do things in art X3 But yeah, actually I do know what you mean with the backside of comp paper. It does make a really nice odd sort of take on the picture. I admire that a lot X3

π: 0 β©: 1
okashichan In reply to batonrye [2005-02-22 04:05:01 +0000 UTC]
The markers are Copic Sketch and for this it's just plain old computer paper, though I use marker paper too depending on what I'm going for. ~~<33

Ah~!! This is really useful for starter like me. ^o^ Really useful indeed. I have been looking for tutorial on coloring with traditonal media and all the books I read though just arent enough. Wow! Wow!! Great tutorial. Just have to add this to my tutorial collection of HOW-TO-COLOR. But damn, have to get around on how to color with my prisma's. >.< Oh, but gotta go look for some copic stuff. Thanks for the tut.

okashichan In reply to Shilili [2005-02-22 03:31:10 +0000 UTC]
Aw glad it is helpful! It's the same basic thing for prisma's except prisma's have the big fat tip instead of a brush tip and they're actually a lot brighter color wise.

okashichan In reply to KagomeResurrected [2005-02-22 01:49:26 +0000 UTC]
Sure, they're Copic markers, not the normal kind though, they're the Copic Sketch. They have a brush tip on one end and that's what I used.
