Description

With some delay, as I had no idea what this ship class should look like, I now present to you the second class of armed freighters of the Aaesmentas Mendo: the Comcom-Class.

The Comcom-Class replaces the original design of the Portanto-II-Class. With 431.7×374.2×115.5 meters, the new version is similar in size to the old version, but rotated by 90 °.

The load capacity is now 12 Container-Size-M of the MMT, in addition to up to 192 Container-Size-S, in contrast to the Portanto-II-Class, which could transport a Class-3-STC and 675 Class-1-STCs.

Also, the armament has changed a lot. Instead of the 800 missile silos for Mk.I "Shield Crusher" and 240 missile silos for Mk.II "Shield Crusher", the Comcom-Class now also has the new Railgun-like launcher.

In total, the armament consists of 40 launchers caliber 380 mm with a total of 400 "Shield Crusher" Mk.I missiles and 8 launchers caliber 1200 mm with together 160 "Shield Crusher" Mk.II missiles.

Like the Inficomeuge-Class, the Comcom-Class does not have an internal hangar for Orioritas-Shuttles, but external landing pads. The Comcom-Class has a total of 24 landing pads.

Although the transport capacity of the Comcom-Class is smaller than that of the original Portanto II class, the medium-sized freighters remain the most important freighter class of the MMT at interstellar distances. 50 to 60% of the freight containers are transported by this class of ship.

In "military" operations, the Portanto-II-Class acted as a kind of battle carrier, similar to the Ha'tak of the Jaffa. As the shuttles in the new concept no longer play such a major role, the "military" role of the Comcom-Class changes to that of a cruiser. That is, these ships fight medium-sized enemies and protect the "battleships" of the Mentas-Class.

On the picture above you can see two Comcom-Class freighters as well as a space station of the new Fitia-Class.

These space stations replace the original Ekonomia-Stacio-I-Class. With a height of 295.2 meters and a diameter of 374.8 meters, the space station of new style is significantly larger. Like the spaceships, the space stations no longer have an internal hangar. The Fitia-Space-Station has 12 landing platforms, but these pads are for two Orioritas-Shuttles each. The landing platforms of the spaceships, however, are intended for only one shuttle.

Like the original Ekonomia-I-Class, the Fitia-Class is the most used space station type in the MMT.

In contrast to the old design, the capacity for cargo containers with 18 Container-Size-M and 730 Container-Size-S has become significantly larger.

Thus, the importance of these space stations is much greater, thanks to the larger container capacity, as the handling of goods now takes mainly place on the Fitia-Class space stations in contrast to the original concept, where only smaller commercial transactions are handled on the originally Ekonomia-I-Class.

As with the original design, the offices of the local representatives of the MMT, the Trade Commissioners, are also located on the Fita-Space-Stations.

Instead of the 216 silos for rockets with "Shield Crusher" warheads, the Fitia-Stations are now armed with 36 Railguns for 380mm "Shield Crusher" projectiles.

Overall, the ammunition chambers are equipped with 720 "Shield Crusher" Mk. I projectiles.

Another special feature distinguishes the Fitia-Class space stations from the original Ekonomia-Stacio-I-Class. Individual Fitia-Space-Stations can be connected to other stations of this type. Thus, the size of the space station can be adapted to the respective needs.

However, the picture above shows a single Fitia-Class space station in orbit around the planet Enkyke, which, as said, is surrounded by two Comcom-class cargo ships.

The left freighter prepares for the onward flight while the last Orioritas-Shuttles dock at the mothership.

Meanwhile, the freighter, on the right side of the picture, is docked to the space station.

Since no freight transfer is planned, this freighter is docked with the persons lock, located on the top of the command tower. Through the tower leads an elevator express shaft, which connects directly to the elevator system of the space station. This simplifies the transport of passengers between ship and station, thereby also speeding up docking and undocking.

For cargo transfer between ship and space station, the cargo hatch is located at the bow, between the two "bow tips". This design is intended to create a more stable connection between the ship and a station. In addition, a much larger cargo hatch can be attached to the bow.
