is classified as a destroyer by the Office for Intergalactic Investigations, the Antad Denarlux (Alteran: Home Fleet) classifies these ships as Neslacant (alteran: patrol ship)

as with all new Republea ships, the Alterans had to make constructive and technological concessions to their current situation with the Neslacant-Class

so all ships were initially equipped only with interstellar hyperdrives,

although there were engineers among the Alteran refugees who had the knowledge to build intergalactic hyperdrives.

but the Alterans had yet to build the infrastructure for the construction of intergalactic drives

which was not a priority in the initial phase of Itas Antitas, as the colony had to be established first

so ships with intergalactic hyperdrives could only be built in the last five years

another limitation is the apparently still very low production capacity for the missiles known as Ancient Drones

therefore, the Neslacant-Class and the Adtiaomer-Class are the only capital ships at all equipped with launchers for these missiles

otherwise, the armed shuttles of the Ompare and Mianes type seem to have priority in the allocation of drones

unusually, the Ororier launchers are designed as independent units in each case

that is, the Ororier units are self-contained launchers as well as ammunition depots

so that when the 40 drones of an Ororian unit are all shot, the entire unit must be replaced as a whole

it is not possible to refill the missile magazine in the ship, a completely new Ororier unit has to be inserted

in both classes of ship, drones no longer serve as the primary armament, as they did at the height of the old Republea

pulse plasma cannons, still secondary armament in the Pegasus galaxy, are now the primary weapon systems

for these turrets, the Alterans obviously drew on designs from the time of Destiny's construction

all gun turrets are three- or four-barreled

the AD takes an unusual design approach, as the barrels of a turret have different calibres from the medium-sized Adrehnes Tia onwards

in the case of the Adrehnes Tia weapon system, the gun turrets have one 530 mm gun barrel and three 353 mm gun barrels

thus, with a relatively small number of turrets, the AD ships have a relatively large number of different calibres for different situations

one could say, high redundancy of the weapons, with relatively little effort

the Neslacant-Class is, as the Alteran name suggests, designed primarily for patrols

the Republea uses these fast ships to protect the flight routes to the recently founded colonies in the solar systems adjacent to Itas Antitas

it is also known that these ships perform frequent patrols within the solar system

useful for this task is that the Neslacant-Class, like all Alteran ships except the Nesadcle- and Nesomer-Classes, is basically an armed scientific research vessel

therefore, these ships are equipped with sensor equipment that is rarely found in the military starships of other fleets/factions, with the exception of special reconnaissance ships

the interior of the boom on the port side therefore consists largely of scientific laboratories, analytical equipment, sensor arrays, etc.

after the larger Adadiant-Class, the Neslacant-Class is the most frequently used Alteran ship class for research and survey missions

the Neslacant-Class is primarily used for short- to medium-range missions

these ships are also considered to be training ships for new ship crews

in the past, the Neslacant-class ships were therefore notorious for firing warning shots unnecessarily frequently at ships that did not belong to the Republea

the High Council of Antitas justified this by the inexperience and nervousness of the young crew members

the High Council has improved the training methods in the meantime, there are presumably more qualified officers available, so that such incidents no longer occur

nevertheless, the OII, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Priach Bradegyl, continues to advise Union vessels not to enter the Republea territory

especially if Eriwraith are on board, as their presence can still lead to overreactions on the part of the Alterans, despite the efforts of Priach Bradegyl.

in this context, the outstanding, patient and understanding attitude of the Eriwraith people towards the Republea should be mentioned

despite the restrictions and barriers that have existed for Eriwraith in connection with the Republea for almost 40 years now, the relevant Union measures are accepted by Eriwraith and in some cases even explicitly initiated by them themselves
