Description Add a few drops of milk to a large glass container filled with water, take picture, rotate image 180 degrees, pump up the saturation and whala. Surreal!

My original photo was very noisy (grainy), but Erik Collinder was kind enough to clean up the original and send it back to me. Thanks Erik!

I like this one its realle neat. The only problem i have w/ it is all the spacon the left and tht there is no space on the right; but i like things semmetrical so, tht might not have been what you were going for.

That's extremely cool way to look at a drop of milk. I'm just a bit buggered by the grain, but most dark pictures can't avoid that, not at the speed you need to take for that shot.

Maybe do that same thing with a lighter backdrop, and ink, invert the results later?

But as everyone else says, this shot is amazing in itself to have twist and twirl into the beautiful grace it is.

CRITICISM: the photo is interesting but just in this singular pose it seems kind of pointless. i would suggest trying to take it from a more dramtic angle, i know it will be difficult with the way water works, but thats what will make it STUPENDOUS!!!
also i would like to see another material after this, maybe something very slow(whatever that slwo liquid word is)
anyways like honey or something like that, dyed oil

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!
OH GOD! i've always thought milk was tasty but never saw how BEAUTIFUL it was!!!
I'm so astounded!!!

And well, i read your comment of the picture and saw you wanted us to be brutal, hahaha! So let's see, what could i critizice? That's hard for me 'cause I don't have a complex knowledge of photography.

But, you know, it looks like a melted jellyfish! Hahahahaha!
IT'S AMAZING! your creativity SHOCKS me! AWESOME!
CONGRATULATIONS!

exquisitely-surreal In reply to ??? [2008-03-16 22:39:10 +0000 UTC]

I agree with everyone here. The photograph and the concept is amazing however, as you requested criticism, when the photograph is enlarged it is "grainy" and it loses some of its "magic". (I have lack of better words right now-sorry.) I would keep experimenting with this concept, people seem to like it.

TammyWebb [2008-03-13 08:53:08 +0000 UTC]

i read the fact that you specifically want criticism, and i can relate to that, but to be honest i think this is great, and i am not a photographer by any means. the only criticism is from an artistic perspective, i would probably go for a different angle, eg. pull the image more to the right to give more breathing space to the composition.
it is just beautiful though

Looks awesome. But leave the satuaration out. it makes it look dotty and not pure. when I saw the thumbnail it looked like some sort of cool jellyfish thing from space. But then I enlarged it and because of the dotty saturation it lost it for me. You said you wanted honest criticism. there you are. if you have a pure version, I would love to see it and it even might become a favourite of mine.

Brilliant photo, Wonderful. Maybe a lower ISO... (is it lower or higher? I mean use something more like 200 instead of 800) Less grainy..., although then maybe it would be too slow and then flash might have to be used.

I like it allot besides the grain.

I'm not sure whether I like your comment on the deviation more than the deviation itself! Hehehe

Brilliant... I tried that the other way aroun... black ink on water but... I didn't have a clear shot so I just watched the drops floating like smoke untill the water's all black...

hmmm..not bad at all!
obviously you had help with this (you couldn't possibly spill the water/milk and take the photo at the same time right? )
but its has given a fine blend into the pic! you chose a good background for the colour, the lightings good, it makes the diluted liquid look almost electrical! XD
i also like the satuation effect you've done, with the photo looking almost granually
overall, this is a pic you can say your proud of. there really isnt much critism to say. other than i hope your future work is as impressive as this
mind if i feature this pic in my shoutboard?
