Description Add a few drops of milk to a large glass container filled with water, take picture, rotate image 180 degrees, pump up the saturation and whala. Surreal!

My original photo was very noisy (grainy), but Erik Collinder was kind enough to clean up the original and send it back to me. Thanks Erik!

Sounds so easy to do.

Never would've thought of it though.

What's to criticize...you're concept is original; so original someone (maybe myself) may do the exact same thing with subtle to extreme diferences. Not to mention the image is like looking up at clouds and will be subject to different interpretations.

In all, great pic!

The only thing I could think of to do different is have it centered more on the milk. I would be interested to see more photos like this of things of varying consistencies.

WOW cool idea! It looks like a jellyfish. You said be brutal but that's kind of hard when the picture is almost perfect. My only suggestion: try not to cut off the edge of the subject like you did on the very right on this pic. But seriously, that really doesn't even matter because this is so cool looking!

its hard to find anything critical to say, its so organically beautiful...just keep doing what you are doing, thats my advice for what its worth.

have you tried this with different kinds of liquids...that would be an interesting project as i imagine different forms emerge but who knows lol

I hardly think you need any advice from me.
Youve got a great thing going with this.
I wish I could get a clear picture like that.

watdoymeanwatdoimean [2007-02-27 23:25:30 +0000 UTC]

that is absolutly incredible, it reminds me of eletro microscope images showing partle forms etc, youve got a definate eye/mind for possibilities. i hope you experiment more with simular efffects.

the only suggestion i can think of to improve this is to try other liquids as well, squash for example. maybe 3 sepereate colours, all swirling about. you might even get a double helix like effect

anyway kudos to you!

Please explain your process a little further.
I understand about the milk and the water, but
do you have tips on lighting, exposure times,
speed, etc. I was inspired to try this tonight
but none of the settings I chose would capture
the movent. It wasnt very clear or crisp as you
have yours. Thank you in advance.

I see the .EXIF info now, but is it correct?
The information on my photos is wrong,
so I wonder. Lighting tips would still be
greatly appreciated.

You've created incredible art here, brilliant.
