In Memory of Eric M. "Winkle" Brown, who flew this Martlet during autumn 1941. Brown became the highest decorated FAA pilot, one of the top test pilots of this era, holds the record for the most aircraft types flown (487) and was the first one to land a jet on a carrier. He passed away in late February this year.

Only one thing: Martlet Mk.I was not a F4F-3! It has different engine. F4F-3 was powered by P&W R-1830-76 Twin Wasp, 14-cyllinder, double-row engine. Marlet Mk.I has 9-cyllinder single-row engine Wright GR-1820-G205A Cyclone.
