Not much was ever really learned about them other than that they were among the "first ones". One of the
oldest civilizations in the galaxy. Them and the Vorlons, which are also neat, are about the same age and
the two species kinda duke it out for competition over who reigns supreme in the galaxy throughout the show.
Remember Kosh? He was the Vorlon ambassador to Babylon 5.

I know right. Looking back at it now you can tell that everything is CGI and looks really cheesy. But at the time

Then again the building of the epic tale was about the rise of the Shadows and the forces of light having to get it together to defeat them.
Duex ex machina in my book for how Lorian got the Shadows, Vorlons and other First Ones to leave the galaxy to go with him.

What I wonder is where Draal went? You know (in case my spelling is way off), the Minbari who got this cool set up straight out of Forbidden Planet in that otherwise dead world the station orbits? He was supposd to become this important ally to the good guys but then just up and left the series without explanation.

Pretty much what i remember except i'd forgotten his off screen involvement in the later events; not sure i ever even realized who they were talking about when i saw those episodes without a face attached to the discussion. I'd wondered if the absence was caused by real life difficulty obtaining the same actor; looks like ti was.
