Description
Yeah, after the Spiritomb, Garchomp and Breloom I now have developed a taste for (attempts at) drawing realistic pokemon. This time it isn't Spooktober stuff, rather I chose the pokemon based on the fact that October 6 is apparently National Noodle Day, which is actually yesterday but some time zones are still there. So here's the noodle pokemon in sorta realistic form (2 of them have noodle bodies and one has noodles on the head, of course they're the noodle pokemon).Since the activity of Pokemon catching and battling first became popular in the Kanto region years ago, trainers around the world have searched for the most powerful pokemon to use in battle. One particular species has been much sought after for a long time, a creature so powerful that it can rival legendary pokemon, but also very rare like them. Dragonite is a reptilian pokemon very rarely seen in the wild. It is a final mature form of Dratini, despite the immense differences between the two. It takes a very long time for a Dratini to grow into this form, and many are taken by predators before they do so. Most that do survive into adulthood grow into a form between Dratini and Dragonite, known as Dragonair. Dragonair are the longest stage in the growth cycle, reaching up to 4 meters long, but when it finally enters the Dragonite stage its tail shortens greatly, using the food stores in it for the development of limbs. Eggs of this species are laid in the sand near sources of water, and upon hatching the newborn Dratini instinctively enter the water, where they spend much of their life. Dragonite is much more terrestrial than the other stages but still frequents the water, its large wings that power its flight also serve well as flippers. Like Scrafty and Sandaconda, Dragonite are squamate pokemon, but they are neither lizards nor snakes, rather they are a transitional form between the two, like Serperior. The younger forms are limbless, bearing more resemblance to snake pokemon, but the final stage is more lizard-like. The transition to the Dragonite stage involves the pokemon developing six limbs, 2 of which are wings that allow it to fly, as well as a pair of sensory tentacles on the head. Studying its growth cycle can help understanding how snake pokemon evolved, as well as that of Serperior, another pokemon with similar but reversed growth cycle, being born with limbs and losing them later. As they grow larger, Dratini and Dragonair often shed their skins many times, and can do so to remove parasites and small injuries like mild burns. As they reach the final stage they do not do this anymore, and instead can become so focused that they do not flinch at all. Some individuals, however, do not shed skin at all, instead having some strange marvel scales in their limbless forms that allow them to take more hits when under certain conditions, and when they become Dragonite these individuals lose this ability and instead gain multi scales different from those of other Dragonite that allow it to take less damage when attacked while in full health, an ability found in only one other Pokemon, the legendary Lugia. As stated before, Dragonite are very rare and hardly ever seen in the wild, most known individuals being raised by trainers since they were Dratini or Dragonair. Most seen in the wild are of the younger stages, and even these, although found across many regions, are very rare and known from just a handful of locations in each region, and even in most of these regions they are almost never seen. Dratini was the first to be discovered, and while all forms have been appearing in legends and myths, it was only after a fisherman pulled up a Dratini in 1996 in the Kanto Safari Zone after a 10-hour struggle that this species was confirmed to exist. And even more recently it was discovered that there is a location where the all growth stages of this pokemon could be found, and the Dratini there are more common, with upto a 60% chance of fishing one up in the rippling water outside the Dragonspiral Tower in Unova. Here they feed on Basculin, a fish pokemon common in Unova. Basculin have two known forms, one with a red stripe and one with a blue stripe, both are very aggressive and will violently attack other pokemon, including the other form of their own kind. These carnivorous fish feed on most smaller pokemon and their presence will cause most to flee, but they are no match for Dragonite, which easily overpowers them and hunts them for food. Basculin are also suitable for human consumption and are often said to be fucking delicious if cooked correctly and not fucking raw, to quote Gordon Ransei, chef from the Ransei region.
