Honestly, I really do not understand the whole Dumbledore being gay thing. I really don't think it matters at all. Rowling outed him after the series was over.
Besides, there was nothing in the books that made me think he was gay at all. Now I know that my gaydar sucks hardcore, but nothing he said or did sounded like something I would do.
Thats my opinion anyway. All the others make perfect sense...

I never understood why she came out and said it either - didn't she say it AFTER the 6th book? People were making such a big deal about it anyway and I didn't understand why; he's gay, so what? I mean there were scenes with Grindelwald, yeah, but I didn't get any "Dumbledore's gay" vibes from it. And anyway, that didn't take away anything from his character. I love Jo, sure, but the whole Dumbledore's Gay thing was just...irrelevant, I think.

It is vastly irrelevant, because it's never seen in the books. And while people may say, "Oh he has that twinkle in his eye." or some such shit, it doesn't make a difference. People are seeing "signs" after the fact and outside the canon of the stories.

I was kind of mad about Rowling keeping secrets, because she knows the reader would never know extra details about characters unless she said them herself. (AND I've invested nearly half my life reading these books!She's not allowed to keep secrets!) But I read the link you gave in a reply and she described it in a sweet way, not a "BET you didn't know that!" kind of way and I realized it doesn't change the story at all, it just adds to it, so I'm not missing out on anything. I'm kind of angry that she made Dumbledore out to be such a jerk in the last book though! I loved his character so much! *sigh* I miss post book 7 Albus!

This is ABSOLUTELY perfect: the comic itself AND the breaking news! Seriously: I just CAN'T believe good old Dumby was gay! (not that it really matters to the plot of course, given I always envisioned him as asexual or just way too old to do anything).
