Description
More Ruby and Fluffy. Pretty much how they met Jet and somewhat why Fluffy looks down on her sister still making a living as a thief. When they were younger, they were both surviving by stealing. They found Jet's camp unattended and started rummaging through it, but they got caught. Luckily for them, Jet only looks terrifying. He notices that they were mostly stealing food and takes pity on them, and ends up letting them go.-----------------------------------------

Nah, he's a good guy, he wouldn't hurt someone unless they were a real threat.

Its very kind of him to help out though..
Like, there was this time (and i dont know why this reminds me of it) when Brett and i were homeless and we had been hunting around for something to eat because we were super starving. And we found this turtle, tangled up in something out a ways in this lake we happened on. and i was all "FOOD!" and Brett was questionable with the idea.. it took us the better part of 2 hours to find a way to get that turtle! I was stoked, immediately took it up to a water pump by this weird building there and washed all the scuzz off it and got it going again and i was all ready to dispatch it and Brett noticed it had a big scar of its face and felt bad for it... after much deliberation we let it go... lunch got to swim away that day and now its the story of how i almost killed the cute/ugly turtle...

Well, it had been about a month since our last "meal" ..meaning we had been surviving on "take one" candies from the library and things we could scavenge for a while.... >_> all i wanted was a mouth full of food, like, to actually bite into something of mass and have food.. i had been hunting ducks..but.. they fly.. heh.. yeah... he really had to convince me to let him go.. i hope that turtle is huge and damn happy yet

It could still be alive, they can live for at least several decades, even in the wild.
Despite the whole flying part making them harder to catch, duck would have probably been a better food source; easier to get to meat and more of it.

Well, i had gotten really close to catching a turkey at one point, on food, chasing it through a forested marsh, (they cant really take flight in a wooded area). But i slipped and fell kinda hard in the mud..man, i was a right mess all up my side and stomach! XD hahah, and he got away... damn... But, we survived. I mean, i'm pretty practiced at scavenging food, even prior to being homeless. I traveled a lot, and i would hit up hotel hallways for discarded room service You can eat damn well doing that
We just didnt really have any hotels in the area and Brett thought it was stealing...i swear, his morals were the most annoying part XD hahah

Nah, that's not stealing, if it was going to get thrown out anyway. I went through a free-gan phase when I was about 18-19 ish; partially out of the fact that I had no money, partially out of being all "fuck corporate/consumer/capitalism BS"... I did actually steal quite a bit back then. The guy I was dating at the time had so much of an issue with it, too. I think the only time I actually felt a little bad, was when I stole someone's lunch out of a microwave XD In my mind, stealing from some big corporate store didn't matter; but someone was totally planning on eating that sandwich and it vanished XD

XD omg that would have tripped me up! XD hahaha! If i have things vanish i immediately assume i must not have had it to begin with, then spiral into self doubt... and go teat junk food somewhere XD
Well, to be fair though, people throw away so much perfectly good food and its a shame! I really dont see a lot wrong with snatching food, its getting caught that can be an issue O_O I mean, its one thing to be like that dude who tried to steal a rack of ribs at walmart, by shoving them in his pants, and another to learn their dump schedule and go through the dumpster out back and grab everything that just happens to be on the last day of its expiration date. Especially bakeries!! Its also good to learn your local flora and whats edible and in season

It was one of those things where you find it funny but feel bad for finding it funny, because I'm sure that person was so confused when they came back XD
Yeah, I was never that stupid about it. I actually never got caught, had a close call here and there because I had some friends who tried to do it with me, who didn't get how to do it right or know how to judge when to just bail.
Where I live there's so much prickly pear cactus. The fruit is good; the rest, not so much, but still edible and grows year round. When in doubt, eat the prickly pear

Yeah, its fine though, you assume everyone survived XD hahah they wont die without their snack
Yooo, true though, friends always trip you up when they try to go with! i had the same issues with my cousins when we used to run coyote hunters! See, i'm not a fan of predator hunting (sorry if i sound like a hippie, i guess i kinda am?) LIke, i grew up around hunting, that dont bother me, but i dont like the idea of taking a predator out of an ecosystem. Especially when its not bothering the local farming population, which they weren't. So, i would go out and run all over the county calling coyotes and leading their dogs (and the people) all over the place on a wild goos hunt. Now, my cousins were just getting old enough to start wanting to join in, so i let them, but they never know when to bail and when to keep quiet -_- ugh.. plus its quite physical, running through deep snow and doing so in a way that you dont leave super obvious tracks.

Yeah, I hate when people hunt things they aren't going to eat. I understand it if there really are too many of them, if they're over populated and starving because there's not enough food, that's worse than shooting them; but if it's just to show off, then no, fuck that. At least with deer, it is for population control, only done during certain seasons, and most people do use the meat.

PyroandScout In reply to OMGitsSomething [2016-08-22 13:43:28 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, like, i hit a deer last october. It was unavoidable, it ran between an oncoming car in the other lane (who never dimmed their lights)and my jeep.. my jeep won. I was driving my mom home after haunt, so it was like 11 at night. I launched that deer a good 20 feet, but it was still alive if my mom wasnt along, i would have just broke its neck, but i didnt want her to see that, because she's really....weird.. so i had her call my dad, who was still back at haunt with everyone else, and i went and sat by the deer for a while, to keep it from trying to get up. I ended up having to set its head on my lap and close off its airway until it passed.. My mom told everyone what she saw, which was me petting the deer until it died...My uncle took the deer and processed it for meat. So it didnt get wasted anyways... It annoys me when people dont tag and use the deer they hit by accident.

OMGitsSomething In reply to PyroandScout [2016-08-23 19:19:22 +0000 UTC]
Well, I think with roadkill, most people just panic. Taking it for processing is good, but I think the average person doesn't even think of it or know anything about where to take it or whatever. The only animal I've ever hit was a squirrel, I braked for it and thought it was gone... apparently it was under my car
My friend and I thought we hit a dog once, it darted between the wheels of the car, we looked behind us, expecting to see it dead or hurt, it was just standing there wagging it's damn tail. Our reaction went from freaking out that we just killed a dog, to cussing at the damn thing for scaring us like that. XD
Same thing happened with a cat once, at night along the highway, we pulled over but couldn't find it anywhere or even any blood or fur, it must have managed to dodge the wheels and keep running.

My housemate hit a squirrel once, it scarred him for life, he still thinks about it and drives like an old lady! The worst one for me was a fox... i knew that fox lived there, i knew it crossed the road every night at that time.. but i had been away for a week on a family trip, and wanted some space, so i had snuck out and was on my way back (at unsafe speeds) when it took it's nightly trip... i felt so bad that i took it home and wrapped it in a beach towel and buried it in the front yard.. that was the last time i stuck out.. well, to that location anyways.
I did have a similar thing though with the dog. I thought i had hit a pheasant at like 4 AM one morning and when i stopped i saw a bunch of feathers in my brake lights and suddenly a head popped up! O_O I was like... "Well, shit, aint you a lucky fucker?" The pheasants here are all tame, as part of a reintroduction thing.. so they'er all dumb as a box of rocks dipped in cement.

Oh god
I totally understand burring it though. When we thought we hit the cat, we didn't realize that we must have not hit until after searching around, I felt so guilty and felt like I had to at least give it a burial, I didn't even want to stop searching until we were sure there was no sign of it anywhere... I was relived but at the same time, still worried that maybe I just didn't see it; or that it was out there, alive but hurt, though I doubt that considering we were going 60mph in a 1/2ton van...

Yeah, i still feel terribly guilty over the fox :/ It was so beautiful i couldnt just leave her there. I didnt even get in trouble for sneaking out because i was so distraught over the fox when i got home, my folks didnt feel the need to punish me. I've started seeing foxes in that area again about a year ago, and i really dont drive that way at night anymore, i dont have a reason to and my job changed towns and i'm not driving that way for anything now. I dont even go to Madison because of the sudden increase in shootings at our local mall :/

Where in the world is everybody getting these fingerless gloves?
So are there reasons beyond just design choice as to why Fluffy & Jet don't have the glowing green eyes the others seem to? Speaking of, Jet's blue eyes are freaking awesome looking. But then again, the rest of the piece looks awesome, too.
Even if Ruby got so scared that her left ankle turned double jointed. Good job, Jet, thanks a lot for that.

OMGitsSomething In reply to CiCi-Arts [2016-08-02 06:43:17 +0000 UTC]
don't question that! Just accept that it's a thing in their world. It may or may not (and by "may not" I mean, "it is") be a result of the fact that I always wear fingerless gloves and not doing so seems weird to me
Pretty much all shapeshifters have green eyes, but fixed form canids and felids have pretty much any eye color besides green (and are always in half-way form). Fluffy's eyes would be green but she's albino.
Eh, her leg is supposed to be kicked out slightly, like she was scrambling to get away when he grabbed her; but I guess I hadn't noticed that it looks a bit off.
