Description
It's 3 AM and I'm tired, and tired of working on this. Mainly done because, while going and updating my characters' ref pages with their alternate forms, I realized how out of practice I am at drawing animals... which is slightly ironic, considering a big part of why my characters are shapeshifters in the first place, is because I used to not be able to draw people...Anyway, yeah, about the drawing itself. Aries and Jet do the hunting for the group, it's sort of become their thing. Aka, their excuse to go hang out in the woods, being brooding tough-guys, away from the younger members of the group who they consider too young and naive to get it. Jet, considering himself a knowledgeable trapper and experience survivalist, at first just takes Aries for some weird hippie-punk and doesn't expect much skill for these sorts of things from him, until Aries shows him up by just going into his dog form and bringing down some big pig-beast thing.

I don't actually know. Some sort of pig-thing. I need to draw out more of the creature things in my characters' world. I love ugly animal things, but I have trouble actually designing them and making them fit with the style I draw everything else in.

We have a huge feral hog problem here. They fuck up livestock and native wildlife. I've never heard of anyone hunting them with a stick here, the ones we have get up to 500 pounds, I don't think a stick would do shit against of of those.

This guy should work with someone so we can read these as comics. I love the art, but this has so much more to give as a comic.

Yeah, he has tattoos on his arms and the bridge of his nose, though they're kind of hard to see here.

I'd love to see detail shots of his tattoos. I love tattoo design, but have major commitment issues so will never get one and end up just slapping all my tattoo designs on my characters.

I don't have any real close ups of his tattoos, the best I have is that they're more visible in his ref page drawing: Aires
Funny thing I've found about getting tattoos, is that at first everyone is super worried about the commitment and choosing something they feel is important, but after about the second or third one, you really don't care that much. Of course you'll always have more appreciation for a meaningful tattoo, but that doesn't mean that you'll regret getting one just because you like the design. As long as it's well done and not something stupid, at worst it's just a nice drawing on your skin. The only thing I really worry about is placement, since once something is there, it leaves less space for something else later on.

That does make sense. I felt that way about getting my ears pierced. I was super nervous about the first cartilage holes but after that ... well the last time I got them pierced I got 6 holes done in one sitting (3 each side totaling to 8 each side) and giggled then skipped away. The mother watching as I had it done was horrified... that was partially why I giggled and skipped away. Eighteen year olds do stupid shit like that. I used to get teased about my ladder piercing but at age 30 I'm like "pft I like it and don't give a shit if you don't"

I got that same reaction from classmates when I pierced my ears in the back of class with a safety pin XD. I tried to do multiple in each ear, but kind of sucked at it, out of the 10+ tries, only 4 lasted (1 in my left, 3 in my right). At least I wasn't stupid enough to get anything done by my friend who did tattoos and piercings in the school bathroom...

Yea tattoos and piercings in a public bathroom doesn't sound like that bright of an idea. I got all of my piercings done at the same place in the mall but I used to put safety pins in my ears after they had been pierced. Still would probably if I wasn't allergic to metal now. I have to wear sterling silver earrings now so I just leave the rings in and don't mess around with putting random shit in my ears anymore. But back before I developed the allergy to metal I did shit like this often:

I watched a few get done, there was one girl who was getting her belly button done, he just had her lay on the bathroom floor to do it... nevermind that there was probably piss all over that floor. DX
It's weird, I'm very allergic to nickle, except for in my ears; any other area of skin will break out from contact, but I can put the shittiest metal in my ears with no problem.
What you have going on in those pictures looks a lot like how I originally went about stretching my ears, just loaded them up with tons of random shit to pull the holes bigger. XD

The level of sanitation (or lack there of) in public bathrooms is the reason I hate using them. Being trans doesn't help the situation but is not the root of my problems with public bathrooms.
That does sound strange that only your ears aren't allergic. My neck is the most allergic and the rash that it creates looks like giant hickeys. It was super awkward before I figured out what was causing the rash. Trying to explain what looks like giant hickeys to the asshole boyfriend that didn't put them there was difficult to say the least.

I definitely have to agree. Of course I live in a super liberal city, I'm sure other places must suck when it comes to the whole gendered-bathroom issue.
My neck is my worst spot too, and my stomach. It took me a ridiculously long time to realize what was causing it, my neck looked like it had infected rope burns on it, which people either assumed were self-inflicted or that I was into some weird kinky shit XD

I spent so long in the closet that I autopilot into the women's bathroom but that doesn't make it any less awkward. Although from what I've heard via an FTM youtuber the men's bathroom even grosser than the women's so I'm thinking, "do I really want to go in there? I think not..."
Lol I'd rather have people assume weird kinky shit than self inflicted. At least weird kinky shit can lead to fun conversations.

I've gone into both enough times to say it's there's just as many clean and dirty men's rooms as there are women's. The biggest problem with men's is that there's usually only one stall, and it's almost always taken by some guy taking a massive dump complete with loud noises and stench that's not clearing up anytime soon... DX
The two were not necessarily mutually exclusive assumptions, considering this was back when the news was full of stories about people hanging themselves while masturbating. XD

I don't remember that being on the news and you don't seem like you're older than me (I'm 30). Maybe it was a local thing.

Yes, definitely.
Nah, I'm just a bit younger than you (I'm 27). The local news did make a big deal hyping it up as "the newest dangerous trend teens may be getting into" lol, but I remember it being started by a couple incidents that made national news, at least one being someone famous dying that way (can't remember who, though).

Around when was this? I feel like it must have happened during the years I've lost my memory of. Memory loss is a bitch. My brain decided my high school experience was shitty enough that it was going to lock the memories of it away in a way that I can't access easily.

I have the opposite problem, I remember too much... which usually sounds great o most people, but gets really nerve wracking at times.

Ah yes that explains it. Those are the years I was stuck in the longest but not the worst of the abusive relationships I've been in.
I can't say I'd rather remember everything because that would include remembering some shit I have blocked out to preserve what little is left of my sanity.

Man, sorry to hear that
It probably is better to not remember all that, that's not stuff you'd want to have weighing on your mind. That's the problem with remembering, you don't get to control what comes to mind when, so as long as the memory is there it has the potential to come back.

I have a question, do you do your art by traditional pen inking first or fully digital?
I have always admired your line-arts!

I draw the characters and the bigger background parts in pencil, and scan it to do the inking and coloring digitally.
