Ugh... I meant to have this done two or three days ago... though it spent an inordinate amount of time in that point that I reach, about a half-way through, where I start disliking it and am prone to getting distracted (for whatever reason, almost everything I draw goes through this stage after I've started coloring it, but I usually start liking it better again once I start shading it)... I'm still not entirely happy with it, I over did the background at first, I toned it down, and at least got it to a point where I don't hate it... not sure there's anything more I can do without completely redoing half of it, so, meh.. I'm done.

anyway...

I was intending to not show anything to do with Jet's backstory yet, or let on that he knows Buck and Arkina... but I've decided against that. In story, I'm still keeping it part of his personality that he's secretive about where he's from and what happened to him, but I'm not going to bother making it this big unknown thing (as far as things go when it comes to trying to eventually start a comic). This is supposed to be shortly before he left and met Ruby, Fluffy, and Requiyen. The territory Jet, Arkina, and Buck are from was raided and destroyed. Between the three of them, Jet was the most affected. He is the only surviving member of his family and nearly died, himself. Arkina and Buck didn't have as much to lose to begin with, they lost their home just like everyone else, but neither of them ever had any family or other close friends; their little group all survived, and that's all that mattered most to them. After trying for a few weeks to accept things as they are, Jet realizes that he just can't do it, and confesses to them that he's leaving.
