I felt I should draw something less dreary... but then I ended up drawing these three, and well, I kind of realized the it doesn't matter what I draw if Beijeye is involved, it's still going to have a dreary undertone... 'cause he's dead and all, and his death is basically what destroys any bit of normalcy in Vilkas's life and any reason for Handwing to not go off the deep end... Oh, well, so much for that idea. Have some dreay-ness disguised as something not-quite-so-dreary.
Handwing thinks of Vilkas as some annoying brat that Beijeye just let bug them for some dumb reason. He hates the way Vilkas followed Beijeye around and idolizes him because he thinks Vilkas didn't really know Beijeye the way he did. Beijeye had a lot of problems that only Handwing knew about, and his demeanor would always shift whenever Vilkas was around; partially out of the fact that he didn't want to trouble a kid with problems he was too young to understand, but also somewhat genuinely. Somehow Handwing doesn't get that helping a ten year old, was a much less stressful way for Beijeye to get his mind off his own problems than trying to help his, even more fucked up, junkie best friend.

Well, they do fight a lot. But the fact that Vilkas doesn't just ditch him is more than Handwing deserves.

No, not a overdose. Beieye wasn't a junkie like Handwing, not that he never did anything (just your typical party drugs here and there), but he actually hated what Handwing was doing to himself. Canid society is rather militant, pretty much all canids are at least trained to fight and, unless they don't make the cut, are basically in the military. Long-story-short, there's an ongoing conflict between the territory they're from and a neighboring one, Beijeye doesn't make it. I plan on eventually explaining the whole story.

Yeah, but you have to be careful about art thieves on the web if you're going to make a comic. I've seen it happen.

Honestly, posting anything anywhere is taking that risk... but then if you don't post it, no one will ever see it and then what's the point? The art thieves that cause the most harm, are the ones just out to make a quick buck. One-off drawings are the easiest targets, since most people who actually steal for profit, try to sell products with the designs on them. I've had it happen with drawings from my other account. I still watermark everything I have here, too, though. There are the people who try to rip-off ideas and character designs, but usually that takes a lot more effort to get anywhere with on their end, so it's a little easier to fight them... still shitty though :/
