I know I've mentioned once or twice about Vilkas and Ferri, but I realized that I've never actually drawn them together. Vilkas used to sell to Ferri and her friends, was a super awkward dork, and had a very-not-subtle crush on her. Ferri also took an interest in Vilkas, due to the fact that he was the first canid she'd met there, who was obviously from outside human society as well. She'd been in Greyport since she'd ended up there as a kid, and any other canids/felids she'd known there had been there their whole lives. She was completely adapted to living a human lifestyle, but where she was from, was the one thing she lacked having in common with anyone. Obviously, things didn't last between them, and she did drag Vilkas into some stupid shit on more than one occasion, but she was at least sort of good for him in the sense that she got him to come out of his shell a bit and have some fun.Also, Vilkas has no idea that Ichibay was Ferri's brother, same with when he later meets Requiyen.
It's not really a relevant detail, more so that I just used Ferri to fill two different roles (the role of Requieyn's other lost sibling, and the role of someone Vilkas was close to when he lived in Greyport). I have a plotline idea for bringing that whole awkward coincidence to light eventually, but I still haven't decided if I'll go through with it or just scrap the idea.

Does some humans or some human friends already know that Ferri is actually a canid/felid while living in this human world?

Everyone can tell. Other races don't have to hide what they are in human society, though most humans do view the majority of them as barbaric or animalistic, and do they fair much better if they conform to human social and appearance norms. Ferri is pretty indoctrinated, any of her non-conforming traits are still pretty typical of human teenagers. Although some people may stereotype and attribute her rebellious inclination to her race, she isn't going to get tacked with the barbaric-outsider stereotype, and it's typically not the first thing people really notice about her; as opposed to Vilkas who's scraggly appearance and cluelessness, keep him from fitting in and cause him more backlash.

How discriminatory humans are against them is going to vary for person to person, essentially it's a matter of racism. Canids and felids have been around long enough for the initial shock that society felt towards their existence has dissipated. All non-human races originated within human society, since that's all there was when they first came to be; they only became the minorities in human society, after non-humans started forming their own societies. But even then, not all of them left human society, there are canids and felids who are still native to human society. There are some humans out there who do still think of them as monsters, but they're basically the extremists; the average human just holds negative stereotypes, especially towards the ones from outside human society, but sees cases where they don't retain any of their canid/felid nature as exceptions. It goes both ways, too though, canids and such hold their own negative views of humans.
